Coach K can opt out then. There are a bunch of other people who depend on college hoops for a living that aren’t multi millionaires like Mike.
Yep. Multimillionaire wants to isolate, let him do it.

Yes. Coach K is saying it b/c he's 73 years old and in the prime demo that COVID kills.

Certainly K has taken Duke to unbelievable heights. But it is a myth that he took this nothing program and made it great
I didn’t say Duke was a nothing program, but he gave them this identity. Bubas and Foster did great things in Durham, and yes, K had some rough seasons at the beginning...before turning them into arguably the greatest program of this era.

What an idiot Coach K is for believing those stats aren't grossly inflated. Anybody else, too, who believes them. The people responsible for compiling and reporting those stats should be hung up in a public square on national TV. They have destroyed countless lives.

I think it was Big Cat who said K is just mad because he can't go in the opposing team's locker room this year to give a lesson on sportsmanship

I don’t like the move for the precedent it sets. We need to keep playing sports, please god, keep playing sports.
I don’t think K is afraid of losing to Charleston Southern and a Gardner-Webb though, he’s just being really lame

That said, he’s a dictator with his program. He probably is an a-hole. So is Saban. At the time, John Wooden’s players thought he was an a-hole. I’m reading about Don Haskins, and the same is true for him.
Well he is a Knight disciple who played at Army.

Met Coach K at Nike coaching clinics on 3 different occasions in the late 90's early 2000's. Here are my observations:
1. Total a-hole. Treated people terribly.
2. Most foul mouth of any coach I ever saw, and I've seen them all. (He put Bob Huggins to shame). F bombs were flying from the time he started to speak until the time he stopped.
3. Told the coaches that were there to see him that he was employed by Duke, but worked for Nike and that is who his loyalty was with. (In all fairness, Nike owns all of those guys and they ALL kissed Nike's arse when they spoke).
4. An amazing teacher. Saw him install his zone offense with a "demonstrator" team of junior college kids that he had never met and within 30 minutes had them running it like they'd done it all their lives. Amazing.
By contrast ... got to spend about 4 hours around Bobby Knight. He was pleasant, funny, respectful and treated everyone very well, and not a single f bomb *lol*. And, he's the best story-teller I've ever heard.

Agree, he knows he'll get points with the ESPN shut it down crowd, etc. for "caring" so much for his kids. All optics....all optics.
I'll say it till I'm blue in the face, Duke blue, these kids are safer in these protocols than they would be otherwise. Saying you are doing this for safety is the lamest fallacy there is.

The whole safety thing is relative anyway. These are healthy kids in their late teens/early 20’s. What type of protocols are put into place to keep them “safe” from the flu?
