You might be right, but I didn't interpret the question in the OP that way. He simply asked who is the most well-known athlete from that school, not which athlete is most associated with that school (would most definitely be Herschel in that case).

How many casual fans know that Charles went to Auburn, or Spieth went to Texas, or that The Rock went to Miami?

Spieth!?!?! What an idiot. If you stopped 100 people on the street in any other city not named Austin, more than half wouldn't know who he is. Guaran-damn-teed.

Well, Miles was meant more as a joke.

Brady would definitely be a good one. Michigan is one of those schools that you could probably name several from.

But for what I consider an Alumni (someone who actually graduated), Tom Brady would probsbly be the most well known.

If Disney doesn't make a movie out of him one day, they missed a boat load of money. His story is just crazy.

Would Ralph Sampson be more well known than Tiki Barber these days for UVA?

For WVU would it not be Jerry West? He still seems well known.

As for VT...has to be Vick...20 years ago, Bruce Smith. But basketball nerds would know Ken Pomeroy

Oh right, I always forget he was a center on the football team. He could be more famous than Brady...

Auburn I always used to assume it was Bo, but with Bo's heyday further and further in the past, plus Charles Barkley's continued popularity as a broadcaster you could argue him. And Cam actually is a decent argument as well.

It depends how you interpret the OP. I understand it to be which athlete is synonymous with the university they attended.

Vince Young - Texas

Reggie Bush - USC

Herschel - UGA

Bo Jackson - Auburn

etc.

If the OP is asking who is the most famous athlete that went to a particular university, that changes some, but not all, of the answers.
