That's a good call. Richmond was the second best SG in the league for a few years after Clyde declined a bit.
Honestly, he was probably the best SG in the league in 93-94, the year Jordan was retired.

Easily, he was a beast over in Europe before the knee injuries turned him into a larger center.

At least before that, he was a part of this:

You left off key players:
Mehmet Okur who signed a huge deal with Utah after 04 was always good for crunch time 3
Elgin Campbell "Mr Charmin" who provided key fouls and surprisingly okay defense straight up against Shaq in the finals
Darko Milicic "Scowling on the Bench" HOFer

Because he played in a time where every other player was midgets in the league. Only reason he scored and rebounded like he did

Do you think Gay's career is underappreciated in general?

I am obviously not saying Gay is on the level of Kawhi. Kawhi has the rings and is one of the best two way players of all time. However, for their offensive stats to be so similar and for one to be a no brainer HOFer and the other has never even been an allstar before is kind of odd. Even guys like Manu, Iggy, Draymond, etc are held in higher regard than Gay even though Gay's stats are superior to theirs. I guess that just shows how much of a difference winning makes.

Tony Parker
six-time All-Star, four-time All-NBA team member, one Finals MVP, and a four-time NBA champ. In 17 seasons in San Antonio, Tony Parker holds career averages of 15.8 points (on 49.2 percent shooting), 5.7 assists.

I said this recently in an unrelated thread, but it is a statistical fact that John Stockton is in the top 5 players to ever play the game. He has records in assists and steals that will never be broken because he was one of the most durable players to ever play the game. He missed 22 games in a 19 year career. And only 4 games his first 13 seasons. He missed 18 of those games on one MCL injury. That is a record these load management softies today will never touch. In most of the games he was getting mauled on physical back screens and he took a considerable amount of punishment with the amount of time he controlled the basketball.

Current NBA I'll say John Collins

Peak Championship year Bill Walton probably doesn’t get enough appreciation because injuries made it a flash in the pan

Dang I didnt even think about it but Darko was on that bench that year.
How much does it bother Carmelo that Darko Milicic has a ring and he doesn't. He probably still wishes that he could have been drafted #2 that way he would have won a ring in his 1st year. But of course that raises the question that if the Pistons would have still won a ring if they had Melo on that team. Melo, individually, is probably a better player than any of that squad individually. But what made that squad so good was their team chemistry and mainly their defensive prowess. Adding a pure scorer with limited defense, even if he would've been their best scorer, likely makes winning that championship even harder. But I could be wrong

Stockton really isn't close to top five, IMO. Maybe he's the #2 all time PG behind Magic, and maybe he's top 20 all time.
The things with Stockton is he was never close to the best player in the league. He was never higher than 7th in MVP voting and only cracked top ten twice.
He never won a championship and was never regarded as a top five guy in a year he played.
His longevity and durability are impressive, but if you use ESPN's top ten list, every top ten player has multiple championships and was a top five player for at least 8-10 years of their career. Stockton doesn't do either even once.

Also it doesn’t help that he was the Most unlikeable player of my youth by a mile.
