No team in their division has more victories, Super Bowl titles, or division titles than the Saints.

Now I couldn't have said that last year.

San Antonio is the No. 31 media market in the country. Salt Lake City and Kansas City are Nos. 30 and 32, respectively.

Saints and Tampa Bay are basically the same. Two former joke franchises that had a stretch of success that resulted in 1 Super Bowl.

Why are the Cardinals "small market?"

St Louis is a top 20 media market in the country and the Cardinals are a top 10 in value.

For the NFL i think it's tough overall to be "small market" because the Fox/CBS national tv coverage.

Teams don't have their own TV deals (or not) like they do in the other sports.

Historically you are right. The Saints were one of the worst franchises, but now they are one of the best. This is probably why most of the NFL hates the Saints, they are perceived as a Johnny-come-lately. They are still wrecking shite in a small market though and that’s the whole point of my OP

im pretty sure the spurs overtook the lakers for highest all time winning percentage in NBA history last season and they have won the 5th most championships all time. i think the steelers are probably the most successful small market franchise in any major sport league played in this country but the spurs are a worthy adversary

Tampa has the worst winning % in the NFL. Saints are around 25th. Cowboys and Bears have the highest two.

Saints have a super bowl. Don’t think that one game qualifies them.

For a ~quarter of the franchise's history (13/51 yrs) it has been a Top 5 franchise in its league despite being totally railroaded by the commissioner over ~2 years. Not saying it belongs on the same list as the Spurs but the duration of the Payton/Brees era has definitely pushed them up this list over time.

I’ll be a homer and say the Spurs, mostly because their success came in a league with little parity, arguably the hardest league to break through in. They won rings in the FA era of sports.

Obviously the Packers have more titles, but many coming in an era where every team was essentially small market.

Oklahoma City in its short history has had Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. There really isn’t any reason other small market teams can’t do the same.

The New York Knicks have blown arse for 20 years. The Brooklyn Nets have sucked for a long time.

Even the Warriors were super shitty forever until the past 7 years or so.

I don’t really buy in to the whole small market woe is me attitude.
