I mix up USC and Iowa state probably the most out of any CFB teams

It's easy to tell the difference between USC and Iowa St. If it is an 11:00 am kickoff it is Iowa St. If it is on TV any other time of the day it is USC.

Also if your first reaction after seeing the uniforms is a feeling of your eyeballs being turned into fried eggs you are watching either Oregon or Baylor.

I go more by helmets than uniforms so my answers would be Arizona St. (any other team have helmets with a devil with a pitchfork on them?), Washington St. and (local bias in effect) K-State.

Excluding the SEC for me, as a fan, I instantly recognize the uniforms of teams such as Penn State, Michigan, Southern Cal, and Notre Dame. I think Penn State's are the most easily recognized because they are so famously bland.

This is the same for all big schools.

My first thought was a UCLA as mentioned. Their combo sticks out. OSU early in a season could be confused with UGA or Indiana I think

The pants look very much alike.

Observation: On non-HD TV's it looked like the middle stripe on both team's pants was red.

Notre Dame. Gold helmets with no markings, jerseys with no names on them.
Now that Army and Navy have updated their unis, I don't get them confused with Notre Dame.

Oregon wears too many unis to say any one is 'Their" look. All of those unis look like high school teams in Texas.

I came to say UCLA.

When Arkansas was wearing Adidas, I got them confused with CUSA teams.

Same for A&M before Jimbo.

Actually, I would have to think that nationwide, LSU has to be very high on that list.

Especially an Alabama fan. You know damn well that if you turn on an LSU game you know instantly who's playing. Don't even try to lie to me; otherwise you ain't a real Bama fan. Somebody from Montana could maybe get away with it; but not a Bama fan. You see, some people say they get Bama confused with Oklahoma and Arkansas etc. etc. For me, I can tell the difference immediately that Bama's colors are different. Bama's crimson doesn't look like Oklahoma at all to me. It's just different. It's not the same bright red as Oklahoma or Arkansas. Then when you see the numbers on the helmet it's over. It's Bama playing.

Southern Cal was the first thought that popped into my head when reading the thread

From the Band, to the field, to the cheerleaders, to the uniforms you know instantly who is playing with just a second glimpse of any of those I listed

USC, Texas and Michigan

Arkansas would be the top but Alabama and Oklahoma copied the classic hog look, probably to be like a champion and it worked for them

Those are my 2 choices. Have to think most of the south can recognize 90%+ of the uniforms. With that being said, you have to think of those big teams up north and out west that have big followings.

USC and Michigan for sure

Tennessee and Texas for their unique colors

Oregon and Notre Dame for their helmets/jerseys.

LSU is pretty immediate too
