Imagine writing paragraphs about a NCAAW/WNBA player.

Mateen Cleaves Michigan State

from Wiki

quote:

Cleaves, a three-time Michigan State captain, led the Spartans to the 2000 national championship, and was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.[3][4]

The school's only three-time All-American, Cleaves was named Big Ten Player of the Year twice. He led MSU and the conference in career assists with 816, and is Michigan State's all-time steals leader (193). In his final home game on senior night in East Lansing, Cleaves dished out 20 assists, breaking the Big Ten single-game and career assist marks.

How does any of that scream "Most overrated college basketball player"

Maybe you meant to start a topic called "College basketball stars whose game did not translate to the NBA"

Ed O'Bannon- not saying he was an overrated college player but his game did not transition well to the next level

college- 1st All American, Pac-10 POY, Wooden Award, Final 4 MOP, Top 10 pick

NBA- 3 teams, 2 years 5 points per game
the thread says most overrated college basketball player not NBA prospect. He's after Laetner arguably the best player of the entire 90s

The twins from Kentucky that one year or two. Harrison? At least one was starting over Devin Booker.

I’ve been giving other names because there is not a close second to Simmons. A total joke.

She jumped from being seen as a Top 10 player to a Top 2 player because she acted trashy and trashy people supported her

She was a unanimous AA in 2023 (and MOP in the womens NCAAT) and an AA again in 2024. Regardless of how unlikeable she is (she's very unlikeable), I think it's dumb to say she was overrated in college. A unanimous AA who was MOP player in the NCAAT returning the next year is going to be viewed as one of the best players in their sport. She let her ego/fame get to her head and started acting like an idiot (still is). No one, but her, ever thought she was better than Clark. Clark was being talked about as the best women's player ever, not just at that time. That clearly bothered Reese and she has showed her arse ever since. All of that didn't make her overrated as a college player. She's the only one who thought she was on Clark's level

Why did you leave out National Championship, Tourney Most outstanding Player, led the conference in assists, and MSU all time steals leader. 2x Big 10 player of the year.

He was a great college player. Properly rated.

20 points a game as a freshman and shot a great 41% from 3 point is considered overrated? His NBA career was not great yes but he did last 8 years in the league unlike many top prospects.
