Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon together will make 34 million/year for the next 3 seasons in Houston.
In the playoffs, EG lit it up with:
11.7 PER
-4 NetRTG
0.4 Box +/- (-16 vs Spurs)
0.2 VORP.
Similarly Ryan Anderson filled up the stat sheet with an incredible:
8.6 PER
-6 NetRTG
-1.6 Box +/- (-11 vs Spurs)
0.0 VORP
Additionally, Anderson was absolutely en fuego from behind the arc with a 28.3% 3pt FG%.
ETA: Oh, and in an elimination game at home both combined for a staggering 6 points on 13% shooting, 7 boards, 1 AST, and 4 TOs, in 55 combined minutes.

I was thinking of starting a thread basically asking at what point do we say Morey is overrated?

I'm just here so I can wallow in the "clutch-city" bashing.
ETA: Instead of the word wallow, I should use "swim." Wallow has a negative connotation and this is a joyous occasion for me.

NBA teams handed out so many awful contracts last summer.
Lakers have to pay Mozgov and Deng $34 million per year for 3 more years
Parsons is making $23.5 million for the Grizzlies doing nothing
Ian Mahimi is a average role player making $16 million per

The Rockets were one of the six teams left still playing last night when most here predicted that they'd be lucky to make the playoffs.
Meanwhile the Pelicans have been siting at home for a month with another losing season under their belt.

We all know what the "C" in CC stands for, & it certainly isn't "clutch"
It's adorable when they line the arena seats with that printed on t-shirts though

Uhh what? Maybe pre-season but it was pretty clear early on that the Rockets were at least top 5 in the west. idk who was predicting that they wouldn't make the playoffs by december.

Had the 3rd best record in the league and lost to a favored 2 seed with the best defense in the league. Little bit knee jerk at this point.
There are currently 2 teams in the league that are elite and SAS is possibly a third. I think the reactions are a bit silly. They've collected shooters and need to add depth. Without a second superstar, they're probably not going to beat teams like Cleveland or GSW that have 3 or 4.

That's really not bad at all for both of them. Space the floor so well for Harden to do what he wants. Obviously they had a bad playoffs, but they're so incredibly effective for that team.

I'll probably use this gif for any and all "Clutch-city" butthurt or deflection comments.

Turns out Morey was right and y'all were wrong.
And the Rockets finished 3rd in the West in both the regular season and the playoffs. Bashing them for losing to the #2 team in the NBA in the playoffs is retarded.

Which is why Morey sucks because he has a guy like James Harden, yet still whiffs on every big name FA that comes up every summer. Congrats on getting an aging and constantly injured Dwight that declined a 24 million dollar pay day to GTFO of houston the first chance he could.

Depth? They have Gordon and Lou Williams off the bench. Ideally they'd unload Gordon and another piece for a star player, but no two players on that team are really worth it to a trade partner.
They're in that NBA purgatory. Not good enough to win a championship, not bad enough to get help via the draft and no viable trade assets.

Go ahead and pretend that the Rox are getting bashed for losing instead of how they lost if it makes you feel better. You'll still have the same empty feeling on the inside regardless.

Now this is a searing take.
If you think the Gordon deal is bad based on this season and aren't trolling you should prob try following a different sport

meh, easy to nitpick after a series like that.
ryno and eg actually had pretty good seasons.

Yall got blown out by 39 by a team who replaced their best player (and top 5 player in the league) with a guy who was in the D league last year. Harden sucked (as usual in elimination games) and intentionally fouled out because he didn't want to play anymore.
Furthermore, most said that D'Antoni's coaching style is great for the regular season, but sucks in the playoffs. I guess we were right and Morey was wrong on that one.
BTW, both Anderson and Gordon's advanced stats were down across the board from their career averages this season. Man, Morey sure told us.
