If anyone is interested in tickets to the Formula One Gran Prix in Austin, October 22-24, they just added more reserved seats to Turn 2 and Turn 4, plus more single-day tickets are now available for Friday ($49) and Saturday ($109). Friday's tickets include Practice and Twenty One Pilots, while Saturday's tickets include Qualifying and Billy Joel.

Lolwut I can watch cars drive down the interstate for free.

That’s cheap. It was US$600 for the Singapore GP a few years ago when I went.

This will be my first year going and I’m shooting for Sunday tickets. What’s the process for buying those or has that ship sailed?

I'd imagine the practice and qualifying days are the way to go and then you can actually watch the race on Sunday. Much like a golf tournament.

They haven't announced the date for additional Sunday tickets. You need to register to get notices and link to purchase when they do go on sale or you'll miss the opportunity and be looking for tickets on Stub Hub where right now, a Sunday ticket for reserved seating is high. I'm in section 6 of turn 12. That's currently going for $1140 just for Sunday. An all-day pass for all three days is going for $1473 in section 8 of Turn 12. General admission for all three days is going for around $300 for a day .

Looks like the turn 2 grandstand ticket is for all events?

I’ve never gotten into any type of racing, but I just binged all 3 seasons of drive to survive and now I might possibly be obsessed with formula 1. Thanks for the heads up on this. I’m definitely going.

Did you get your ticket at face value? Assume you used this same method to that if so.

We're turn 12 section 2 on a pretty high up row(34 I think), pretty pumped about it. Really glad I didn't wait to get tickets seeing that, ours for 3 days came to $445/each. Booked a room downtown as well.

I was spoiled at an early age. If I'm not going to be eating shrimp cocktails in the VIP suites, I just don't wanna go.

Been there and done that for the F1 race at COTA about 3 years ago. Good time, for sure. But we had more fun getting out, walking around, and hanging out at the bar over pit row.

Earlier this year before tickets were on sale I somehow got an offer to buy VIP experiences for the US GP. The most expensive one I could find was a McLaren experience where you get to meet the drivers, hang out in the paddock, all that good stuff. It was $12300 per person. I added 2 to my shopping cart and showed by wife and there was a deal at the bottom that showed your total with another option for "3 easy payments of $8200"

Well that’s also one of the most expensive places to live in the world

frick that. I'd never pay for that experience. I was usually a corporate guest, except with NASCAR, for which my family knew one of the team owners, who was from Lafayette. I still have pieces of Sterling Marlin's wrecked car.
