Agreed. The Mets didn’t lose the division. They got beat. That beat down plus getting swept with all the post season marbles on the line was just too much. Now the Padres are delivering the final blows to a defeated husk of a 101 win regular season.

Mets didn’t choke the division cause they blew a 10 game lead they had in May

They didn’t choke the division by getting swept by a better Braves team last weekend

They choked it for losing series to shitty teams with nothing to play for multiple times in September

Yeah but the braves played at like a 118 win clip down the stretch. That's like best team of all time shite. The Mets played .600 ball and got overtaken. You can nitpick certain series, but over an 162 game season, you can't cherry pick like that.

I feel like puking for defending the Mets lol

The braves didn't get swept all year.

Saying the Mets choked takes away from an all time great performance from the braves.

And honestly, the Mets being good pushed the braves to be great. It's going to be a battle in the east for the next few years.

I get the braves fan shite talking the mets, even dig it, gonna be fun over the next few years with both team

but some of the shite being said downplays the performance of the braves, they dominated from june 1 all the way through to the end. mets were overmatched in ATL and knew it

Y’all say that now, but that wasn’t y’all’s perspective that Friday afternoon before the series started.

Exactly. Braves fans diminish our own success with some of the shite talking. The Mets did not choke the division, the braves just played at an unreal pace after June 1st.

The Mets definitely need some power in their lineup, but they're still a real solid team.

good thing none of us on TD played that weekend

we would have been so embarrassed

btw after the last braves series at Citi I said everything would come down to that last weekend in ATL and it did

the braves were the better team, the end

Well yeah, going into Friday with your rotation set up perfectly gives you a ton of confidence. The braves were just better.

That’s Atlanta sports fans in general. Their pants have been piss soaked for days watching the Phillies. Always scared or bitching about being losers until they’ve won.
