I still cant get over Lucroy to the Rockies for a PTBNL.
So the Rangers gave up their top 2 prospects to get him and trade him for nothing

Yeah, I'm not getting that either. Bad trade.

He lost a lot of value, bad time to have the worst season of his career

#Indians #Rangers have talked about a Yu Darvish for Francisco Mejia type deal according to sources.
Would Indians really do this? Make this year all or nothing?

Kind of surprised the Lucroy deal leaked. Piggybacking off of what Ghost of Colby said, from Jeff Wilson of the Star Telegram on Yu:
And possibly why the Rangers may not like the offers they are getting for Yu:
So basically, I think teams are leery of a Chapman scenario. Giving up a lot for only a half-season rental. Although, it did work out for the Cubs and Chapman was a huge reason why
I guess they believe they are one starter away from winning it all. Plus by them getting Darvish, you take him from contenders like the Dodgers or Yankees, who may or may not get Gray. I would love Mejia as our backstop of the future. Darvish does have Cleveland on his list so he would have to waive his no-trade clause as well

A trade of the All-Star right-hander likely wouldn’t be announced until Monday, the day after Ivan Rodriguez is inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and, possibly, Adrian Beltre collects career hit No. 3,000.

Darvish has told the Rangers that he wants to continue his career with them, but a second source said that he wants to see what the market holds for him.

Red Sox get Addison Reed.
It's Jamie Callahan, Gerson Bautista, and Stephen Nogosek to the Mets in the agreement for Addison Reed.

The Rangers are “reluctantly willing” to engage in trade talks on reliever Alex Claudio, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News (via Twitter). He becomes the latest Texas player to hit the rumor wire, joining fellow relievers Jeremy Jeffress and Keone Kela (though as Grant notes, Jeffress may just end up being DFA’ed)

The Padres are still telling interested teams they will hold firm on their asking price or wait to deal lefty Brad Hand, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post

The Twins now seem likely to deal righty Brandon Kintzler as the volume of phone calls increases, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand suggests on Twitter. The opposite is true of Marlins starter Dan Straily, Feinsand tweets. While Straily continues to be discussed, there hasn’t been any evident traction.

Some pieces for the Gray to Yanks trade agreed upon, working on finalizing according to Heyman

I hope the Red Sox didn't give you anything of real value. This team just doesn't have "it" this year.
Boegarts is going to get paid in the future, but I am beginning to hope it isn't the Red Sox doing it. He's better than anything we currently have in the system at SS, but he's so frustrating as a player.

Did Lucroy asked to be traded? It just seems weird that it was basically for nothing...

Better something than nothing though, they would have probably lost him at the end of the year anyway
