Until a deal is imminent or someone just hung up the phone agreeing to a deal, everyone out there with a "source" is full of it and has no clue.
There's no GM out there that's going to tip someone with a source the actual information they need. They can tip them by saying so and so is really close, but I'm sure that's just to make sure other teams are watching and possibly swooping in with a better deal.
