I read that piece as well and I agree that there is no guarantee that he will be the next Babe Ruth. Hell he might not ever make contact again. But until then, I'm okay with the Cubs' valuation of him.

As am I.
I was talking in terms of getting multiple pieces from New York if we sent out schwarber and a few others. Miller, one of their young starters, etc.
But seeing Theo go all in on a guy like Chapman, I certainly wont rule out a KS trade if someone makes him an offer he cant refuse

Is the deal finalized yet?

Fangraphs on how the sale incident could effect the leverage the white Sox have

I’ve seen a few comments about Sale’s outburst reducing the White Sox’ leverage, opening the door for other teams to swoop in and pick him up at a discount. But thankfully for Rick Hahn, I don’t expect that the weekend drama will have any real effect on the kinds of offers the Sox will be fielding for Sale this week, because in baseball (as in most markets), leverage is much more about a player’s value to a potential buyer than to the seller.

In.... hopefully the Yankees tank the next few days so they can do a real firesale.

I was thinking about that too. They'll probably wait until winter to move him though. I could see the Dodgers make a strong push for him though.

Seems finalized....

11:25am: Class-A Advanced outfielder Rashad Crawford is the fourth player in the trade, according to Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago (Twitter link).
11:03am: After months of being linked to power left-handed arms for the bullpen, the Cubs have landed the hardest-throwing pitcher in the game, reportedly agreeing to acquire Aroldis Chapman from the Yankees in exchange for four players, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports (via Twitter). Shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres will head to the Yankees as the centerpiece of the deal, and the Yankees will also be reunited with right-hander Adam Warren, who is being included as part of the return for Chapman as well. Additionally, the Yankees will land top outfield prospect and former first-round pick Billy McKinney.

Good trade for Cubs. Yankees need to move Beltran next.

OF of McKinney, Judge, and Fowler in next two years

The St. Louis Cardinals have not scored a run against Chapman since 2011. Chapman has had 25 straight scoreless appearances against the Cardinals with 46 strikeouts since last allowing a run to them.

McKinney is not a starting OF on a contender imo.

Kid looks like he can hit, needs power, though.
Look around the league if he can provide .270/.340/.400 numbers then he can start....

Jury's out on him. It's a solid get for NYY, and a decent give for the Cubs. Right now, he's not. But heading into 2016, he was headed that way.

That's depressing

Bird will be back too. Somehow doubt the STL is the only team to struggle against him.

Two, they are worried his knee won't allow it
They're worried that bc he tore his ACL he won't be able to catch again? I doubt it.
