Absolutely. Don't go after a rental. Go get a stud reliever who has multiple years of control left. The Braves have some MLB ready arms (Allard, Fried) who can be moved for one of these guys. I don't want them to give up any of the high level prospects like Wright, Toussaint, or the low minors arms unless it's for a big fish like deGrom.

My Trout-led Phils & the Bravos are about get back to the bigtime in the next few years.

The NL East is going to be a war for the next 6-8 years for sure. I'm just hoping one of the pitching prospects can turn into the TOR starter the Braves need to be a true World Series contender. It would likely be Wright or Toussaint.

Yanks need de Grom vs Bost, Hou, Cle..maybe Sea too.

I actually think New York's bullpen would play out well against those teams in an extended series. That's partially how they beat the Indians last year. The other part was Kluber pitching two of the worst games of his career.

Welcome to the Indians Brad Hand.
Hand entered a 7-4 game and allowed a 2 run homer to make it 7-6. The Indians scored one more in the 9th and then Cody Allen did this..

Cody Allen surrenders back-to-back two-out homers to Chirinos and Gallo to put this one in an 8-8 deadlock in the 9th.

the Indians

Allen's always been a little overrated, IMO. Doesn't surprise me that he's struggling again. If Miller gets healthy again though, he and Hand will be terrifying coming out of the pen in a playoff series.

Didn't the 2006 Cardinals win a division at 83-79?

Yea. But they still had two other teams win 80 games. That ain't happening in the AL central

Didn't look it up first before asking, but yeah the rest of the AL Central is horrendous. The Indians will be dangerous if they can get Miller back though. Kluber and Bauer is a really good 1-2 punch to go into a short series with.
ETA: That's assuming the real Kluber shows up, not the one who got battered by the Yankees last year or the one who got battered by the Cubs in G7 two years ago.

Cant count on Sonny G in Oct

Yankees need pitching... Gray and German have gone less than 5 innings in 50 and 48% of their games. German was sent down after last night and Cessa brought up. CC is well CC he will get you at least 5 most nights.
I don't care if it is Happ, Lynn, or Ross the Yankees need someone to provide decent innings.

Team looks stagnant the last few weeks, something needs to be done or they are just gonna keep fading away.

Gleyber should be back Sunday right? That may be a spark. I want them to call up Sheffield and see how he does for a few starts

Kluber was on his 2nd short rest start in a row in game 7 of the ws.

I keep waiting for el gary to get going, if you’re gonna suck defensively, you better make up for it with your bat, and hes not.
Im torn on sheffield, i think hes still a year away, but id love to see what he can do right now.

Bring up a couple of the kids and give them some spot starts to start resting CC, Tanaka, and Severino. Trade for a pitcher who can give you some length and hopefully Kahnle figures things out so they can bring him back up as another power arm out of the pen

Yeah I knew the Yankees needed to trade for SP, but man, their rotation is ugly with Sonny Gray and German in it. Sabathia is having a nice year, but we'll see if he keeps this level up throughout the rest of the season.
