@michaeljduarte is reporting the Orioles will receive Yusniel Diaz, Dustin May and Errol Robinson in return for Manny Machado.

Damn....I'm gonna miss Manny. Don't know nothing about Diaz. Hopefully he will develop and not be a bust.

You’re getting Manny fricking Machado. Who cares?

Heyman tweets that the players in the deal are agreed upon, though there could yet be some medical reviews to be finalized. Notably, he suggests that there are “believed to be” five minor leaguers going to the Orioles, though obviously the quality of those five will vary. It’s still unclear who, outside of Diaz, is going to the Orioles in the deal, but Heyman adds that there’s no cash changing hands in the trade. That won’t yet put Los Angeles over the luxury tax line, however. Machado is owed about $6.45MM through season’s end, and the Dodgers were about $15MM south of the luxury tax line prior to this agreement.

In the New York Post yesterday, didn't realize it is after midnight
quote:
That would mean jumping in with both feet to snatch Manny Machado from Baltimore and then getting on the phone with his good friend Omar Minaya, part of a triumvirate making baseball decisions for the Mets, and telling him he doesn’t want Jacob deGrom or Noah Syndergaard, the two most coveted starting pitchers on the market.
He wants them both.
And to land them he’s willing to (gulp) send Aaron Judge across town.
quote:
The Yankees could satiate the Orioles’ perpetual need for pitching with Domingo German, Luis Cessa or a prospect like Domingo Acevedo, and could offer a position player among outfielder Frazier, third baseman Andujar and Brandon Drury.
quote:
The Yankees could include pitcher Sonny Gray, who would become superfluous, and perhaps another spare part — Ronald Torreyes or Drury, both versatile infielders — who could help the Mets in the near future, especially if they trade Asdrubal Cabrera for prospects.

Dang, then hopefully the tweet about Diaz, May, and Robinson is wrong because I’d hate to give up those three plus two more for a rental

12:08am: Michael Duarte of NBC Sports L.A. tweets that right-handed pitching prospect Dustin May, long reported to be a target of the O’s, is expected to change hands in the deal. Double-A infielder/outfielder Errol Robinson is also believed to be included, per Duarte.

Baltimore got a pretty solid return and I think the trade deadline will be sort of boring this year now. Feels like a lot of non contending teams are not gonna move any of their best players with multiple years left before being eligible for free agency. Cool story about Errol Robinson who actually is from Baltimore and played college ball at Ole Miss. I’ve met him a few times and he’s a really good dude. He probably wasn’t gonna make the show with the Dodgers but has probably a better than not chance now with his hometown team.

this guy is usually a moron. he might be right with this one, but he was certain earlier this season that Braun was traded to the Dodgers. like he tweeted it out every 30 minutes. I stopped following that retard after it didn't happen.

I just want this to be over with so we can see some other moves.
Part of me believes the Yankees may not move on a SP and instead focus on RP

It is done so you'll see some stuff I guess. They are just waiting for the last medical stuff to go through

Just long enough for Angelos to frick this up somehow.

We heard the same with Britton last year, had the Astros picked him up they would not have gotten Verlander and the Yankees would be the champs
Posted on 7/18/18 at 11:30 am to tduecen
The Britton stuff was never this far along
Posted on 7/18/18 at 11:34 am to WestCoastAg
If you believe the media reports and Crane it fell apart at this exact point. It was agreed upon and fell apart once the medicals for one of the Astros prospects (probably Moran) were reviewed
