Now just 6 up on Tampa
5 in the loss column and Tampa will probably sweep them this weekend.
Boone and Cashman are toast.

Only good thing about the collapse is Boome will be gone.... Judge and Nestor have been the only constant all year....
Pitching has been wasted this year

I had no idea the Marlins released Aguilar this week. He’s one of my favorites, and I’d have loved to see him in a Braves uniform. Oh, well.

The Yankees (.357) finished with their 7th worst August in franchise history, and worst since 1989 (.323).
They currently are on pace for their 4th worst 2nd Half in franchise history (.385), only ahead of 1973 (.377), 1912 (.372), and 1908 (.284).

Dallas Keuchel is on the mound for the Rangers tonight at Fenway. Out of 174 pitchers that have thrown 1000+ pitches this season, he ranks:
174th in BA
172nd in SLG
174th in wOBA
He has an 8.84 ERA and 2.05 WHIP in 56 innings.
Yikes.

Per @ESPNStatsInfo no team has ever blown a lead of more than 13 games in its division or league (before 1969). The largest was by the Dodgers in 1951. Brooklyn led the NL by 13 games on Aug. 11 only to see the Giants rally and win the pennant on Bobby Thomson's walk-off HR.
Rays (90 million payroll
) now 4 back in loss column after being 14 back

It is actually 4 games back in the loss column. That is what I am rooting for Yankees to lose the division at the end of the season.
