Sort of. The US allows exceptions for citizens and anyone on a work visa. MLB requires foreign players to have a work visa because they earn a salary working in the USA.
Tennis players like Djokovic are on a business visa because it's all prize money and not a salary from a US based employer. Business/pleasure visas are not exempt from the vaccine requirement like work visas.
ETA: I don't know if Canada makes any vaccine exceptions, but they make visa exceptions and don't require visiting players/staff to get any sort of visa or they would never survive in the sports world.
Regardless, both the US rule and the Canadian rule are full on asinine at this point.

To be fair, if you don't look at the payroll numbers it's hard to tell the difference between the Royals and their AAA team this year anyway. We are a week before the All-Star Game and the Royals are still looking for their first series sweep of the year.
