We doing this or what? Costas still slurping Yankees in the locker room to get them ready?

@LaurenShehadi

I’m told we’re looking at 1-2 hours worth of rain starting in the bronx in the next 15 minutes. After that, there will be pockets of rain but we should be able to play thru. Likelihood we get the game in tonight is very good. Another meeting set for 7:45

I can't stay up that late. It's a school night.

I'm good with that. I don't care about the MNF game anyway.

Any updates? Game still looking like 9 central start?

yet another WEEKLY example of why all MLB (and NFL) stadiums should have a retractable roof.

it's not 1922 anymore, it's 2022, and having a retractable roof is a relatively easy option for all of these professional sports teams to have when you consider all of the money involved.

there's just no reason rain delays should ever exist in professional sports these days. get with the damn times.

What’s funny is right down the road the MLS playoff game on FS1 between NYCFC and Miami is currently being played in the rain

Guess it’s not too bad for them to delay

Why wouldn't they have just started the game at Noon today to make sure they could get it in?

Right but the alternative is a game ending at 1:00 or 2:00AM eastern that no one is going to watch either.

Don't the roofs exponentially increase building costs? Some of these stadiums barely passed without roofs.

If they can get it started by 9 then it will be fine, those on the east coast will stay up for it and it will be perfect for those in Mountain/Pacific time

You can play kick ball in the rain, hell, the English invented the game and all it does is rain over there.
