The Braves would have gotten waxed by the Padres as well, though, so

That's baseball...
Speaking of, would love to see Cleveland win it all, just for the sake of randomness since my team isn't in it (Rangers). Don't see them getting past the Astros, but I've been way off in predictions already.
Playoff baseball is king.

San Diego is the team of destiny

Agree, people are reading too much into this. These aren’t massive upsets happening
Phillies have a perennial MVP contender leading an otherwise pretty solid lineup with two aces in the rotation
The Padres were a legit playoff contender to begin with who added Hader, Soto, Bell, and Brandon Drury at the deadline.
Cleveland seemingly always has at least a solid piece or two in the rotation and can cobble together just enough production from the lineup. I’ve been saying it for a while but the Yankees lineup outside of Judge isn’t that scary and they went on a prolonged cold steak in the season

and again, literally anything can happen when you distill the game down to such a small sample size. the pirates won 5 out of 6 against the dodgers this year. it happens
teams would prefer the rest and to get their rotation set up

Post season is mostly luck. Always has been.

which is why theres nothing much you can do when you are the mets, braves, dodgers or potentially yankees outside of tipping your cap to your opponent and hoping it works out better next year

The Dodgers should never have a Trayce Thompson starting everyday playoff games in LF under any circumstance

this team wasnt as deep as teams past. when you are scraping by with a trayce and gallo and a chris taylor who is still bothered by injuries, opens up a pretty big hole at the bottom of the lineup

I am surprised someone like a Michael Busch wasn't brought up. I liked them buying low on Gallo from a value standpoint but only if you have other internal options you can fall back on

This guy wants to talk about a big hole at the bottom of the lineup.

Yankees determination to start IKF over Peraza is going to cost them this series
