The lack of black owners thing is so dumb
How often are teams for sale? It’s not like there’s opportunities to buy teams regularly
I guarantee you the Mets would sell to a black persons if they met the asking price

they got a ridiculous offer and turned it down because Fred wanted little Jeffy to be able to play CEO for 5 years AFTER the new owners took control. Mets ownership is a complete inept shitshow, but I understand your point

Curious to see if Bryce plays. He has a young child at home and his wife is due with their second in December.

There’s nothing quite like being continually lectured to by professional athletes.

The San Diego Padres are acquiring middle infielder Jorge Mateo from the Oakland A’s for a PTBNL, sources tell me and @kileymcd.

The A's announced that fans can pay to have their cutouts at home games this season, with prices ranging from $49 to $129. The most expensive gets you a baseball if a foul ball hits your cutout. Proceeds go to local charities.

They can only sell to who is offering, I had someone on Twitter tell me they should sell a team for less so that a black man can own the team. First of all you have to know an AA who wants to actually own a team.

I'd pay for a cutout as long as they told me when and where they would put it.

A little surprised that no one posted that Nick Markakis is sitting out the season as well.

Didn't see it yet, still don't see it on Twitter, MLB.com, or MLBTradeRumors

The Mets have signed reliever Jared Hughes to a major league contract, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com was among those to report. Financial details of the deal aren’t yet known, but Hughes will join the Mets’ 60-man player pool. The right-hander is a client of ISE Baseball.

That would surprise me, considering he still has a shot at 3,000 hits.

If you’d list all the players sitting out, I’d donate to your Patreon.

Saw it on MLB Network. Wonder if they jumped the gun.

Veteran catcher Welington Castillo has opted out of the 2020 season, Nationals manager Dave Martinez told reporters Friday (Twitter link via the Washington Post’s Jesse Dougherty). Castillo inked a minor league contract with the Nationals back in January and was originally announced as part of the team’s 60-man player pool. However, it appears he’ll opt not to play during the COVID-19 pandemic.
