Nothing. Used to live in Olathe. Royals were the first mlb game I ever went to.

Baseball is regional. National numbers would favor basketball greatly I'm sure.

Baseball fans will watch their favorite team, but the won't watch much much of any other. Basketball fans would be more likely to watch teams other than their favorites.

This is impossible.

Baseball is dying.

It's not surprising. This has been going for a while. When LeBron was with the Heat, every MLB team had better ratings in their city than their NBA counterparts outside of Miami, LA and Cleveland. I think it just shows the power of TV sports viewing during the summer time. Almost every major sport gets great ratings during the summer. Kids are out of school so they can stay up and watch games late. But also, there's not a lot of competition on television. There's no NFL or college football and most TV shows have reruns on during the summer. I bet if baseball played the World Series in early August, it would always get great ratings. But during late October, they usually get killed because there's so many other things people can watch on TV.

In many of them, MLB is skull fricking NBA, and using absolutely no lube.

And MLB has 162 games

A's are going to do better.
You can get them on nbc on internet.

When I moved to sf in late 70s, the As were on a 10,000 watt station.

Modern technology is going to help them.

Not surprising at all. Baseball is a localized sport but within their home areas there's way more passion for baseball than the NBA. The Angels World Series outdrew the Lakers, for example.

None of the Los Angeles numbers are good.

While the Cavs were #1, Indians numbers were better than every other team in USA.

I watch the Pelicans 25% of the time that they are on. While they don't have an counterpart in nola, I watch my Braves 80% of the time on MLB TV.

We’ll never see Mickey Mantle type hyped players again but baseball is doing just fine.
Why? In the 70s and 80s MLB had all the star power with Pete Rose, Reggie Jackson etc

I'm surprised Miami's numbers are as high as they are for either sport.

Exactly....Again, I think it's a matter that some folks can't wrap their heads around the fundamental differences in baseball fandom from other sports.

It's a regional or personal passion for baseball. People will watch their favorite teams in baseball and not really watch much other baseball. That is different from hoops and football for the most part where folks will watch teams other than their favorites at times and some take that to mean ?baseball is dying when in fact it's not. The dynamic of fandom is just different.
