SF is reportedly set to offer GM position to Farhan Zaidi which would be another interesting twist in the Dodgers/Giants rivalry

At meetings this week, @MLB GMs expected to consider eliminating trade waivers and moving to a uniform trade deadline, possibly in mid-August. Change would require union approval

cant wait for the giants to rejected by stanton and farhan in back to back winters

What’s his official role in LA? I know he does a lot with Friedman but would it be a big promotion and salary bump to SF? Can’t imagine LA would let the salary become a factor

CWS interested in both Manny and Bryce.

Man that would be off but I can't fault any team from inquiring

hes officially the GM. basically the #2. ultimately friedman makes the final decisions and gets all of the attention, but farhan has A LOT to do with the team and is in many ways on equal footing with friedman in the organization....but ultimately hes beneath friedman and no one else

Boston looking at cutting payroll after paying 45 million in luxury taxes. Phillies and Giants major players

Think Manny goes to the Phillies, Bryce to the Dodgers.

The Cubs don't have money to throw around, they aren't going to be in on either. Their own beat writers are even saying that in addition to the other articles stating that.

Sources: The Mariners are considering a full-fledged teardown this winter. If trade market is strong, they’ve told teams they’re willing to move just about anyone. And if that happens, they have indicated they’re willing to wait a few years to build a competitive team again.

Now, blowing things up in Seattle is subject to return. Jean Segura’s no-trade would need to be worked around. Return for Mitch Hanover, James Paxton and Edwin Diaz would need to be massive. But Mariners are in that awful no-man’s land where they’re good but not good enough.
I would kill for Edwin Diaz and we want a closer.

this will be fun for us Rangers fans, I’m sure of it.

If all three are available I would expect the Braves to make a call on all three. I would give up Riley and one of the top pitching prospects in the farm for Haniger. Haniger has 4 years of control and would fill a major need for the Braves. Paxton only has 2 years of control so it’s probably the best time for them to move him.

Harper to the Dodgers come on down

The Mariners going full teardown almost assures at least two trades between Seattle and St Louis this offseason.
Probably another one with the A's. Throw in the Indians (though that may wait until the regular season).

Would love Haniger on the Stros

quote:. I don’t get why they aren’t moving Haniger and Diaz. Diaz is a dominant closer but he’s basically useless on a bad team and Haniger will be almost a free agent when the rebuild is over. With Kluber, Paxton, and Realmuto looking like all 3 are getting traded this offseason is gonna be insane.
Jon Heyman @JonHeyman · Sounds now like Mariners intend to hold onto Haniger, Diaz and Gonzalez. Word is: “Everyone else is up for grabs.”

Well I'm sure everyone will be beating down their door for Kyle Seager, Felix Hernandez and Mike Zunino.

If Cleveland and Seattle both fire sale the AL will have 4 teams next year winning 100 games. The AL Central will be the worst division in sports history. AL is gonna be crazy to watch.
