Danny Duffy has passed his Dodgers physical, source said. He is expected to return around midseason and pitch out of the bullpen. The deal contains a club option for 2023 that is worth $7 million that can become $10 million if he pitches 15 games and 15 innings this season.

Rumblings of Trevor Story to Texas are heating up, even reports that he will take less to come here.

Is Chris Young forbidden from spending any money on the rotation?
Jon Gray
Garrett Richards
Martin Perez
Dane Dunning
Kilby Allard?

Yes. I don’t get it either but it does excite me Lmao.
This would be a insane signing that I’d love. It’s such a troll move to sign three SS’s to huge deals and just disregard every other position when your MIF talent pool is stacked.
We do expected Cole Winn to come up this year. Not sure what else there is. I know we signed Matt Moore again too.

Dude thought he was going to the Yankees/Cubs/Sox for 3 times that. Growing up in Louisiana and living in Austin the 1st 27-28 years of my life, I watched a lot of games in the Astrodome and Minute Maid, so Ive always kinda kept up with the Astros. And when they moved to the AL, it was easier to kinda pull for them, then they got Bergman, and I watched them even more. And I’m not saying this because I’m a Braves fan and dislike the Astros or even Correa—he comes off very likable to me. But I’ve long since thought he was overrated. Not that he’s not a very, very good baseball player, but he’s not the future HOFer I think everybody thought he was gonna turn into. He wasn’t just the 1st overall pick, he was considered like THE best 1st overall pick for a while.
And again, while great, it seems everybody keeps thinking he’s gonna turn into this thing that he’s not. While still relatively young, he is who he is—there’s no magic switch to be turned on. He’s gonna be this guy and give you this production for the next 7-8 years. But he’s pretty much peaked. And anybody giving him $300 million as was rumored a couple years ago, was gonna get super burned. But this seems like a good deal for both parties. The Twins get a great player with a big name that they’re not tied to for very long. They could move him as early as this trade deadline. And he can opt out after this year if he surprises me and kills it and go hunting for that huge contract he was probably expecting. The market doesn’t seem great for position players so far this year. Maybe it changes next year and he can cash in.

Correa was looking at the Tigers once but interesting decision on the Twins.

Twins, a revenue-sharing recipient, will forfeit their third-highest selection in this year’s draft in order to sign him. That’ll be their pick in Competitive Balance Round B, which should fall in the mid-60s. The Astros, meanwhile, will gain a compensatory selection at the end of Competitive Balance Round B, which typically falls in the early 70s.
