No. I was only 11 in 1969 and I live in Alabama. But I read the book and was hooked on the history of that franchise and I have had a fond spot for the Brewers for ages.
Ironically though week after next my wife and I are making our fourth trip to the Seattle area (actually in Everett 40 miles north of town) to visit her son and our grandkids. I keep telling myself I am going to go to the stadium site … which is now a Lowe’s … but haven’t made it. To be honest we try to spend the least amount of time possible in Seattle proper LOL.

Every kid in my generation rooted for the Cleveland Indians when watching the movie Major League. Didn't translate as making Cleveland "my team" but certainly earned a spot of admiration. Plus it's got Bob Uecker in it.

Cleveland and Milwaukee would be awesome.

Brewers deserve a WS after A) how damn good they have been over the last decade without much hardware to show for it and B) sweeping the Evil Empire.
Brewers have the 4th best cumulative record in baseball over the last decade (behind only the Dodgers, Astros, and Yankees) including 6X NL Central titles and 2X the best record in the NL.
I will be rooting for them to win it all.

Nice story man
I grew up in Mobile (I was born in '69). My team was the Red Sox -- we had no baseball in the South at that time -- Astros? maybe but the Braves? They were terrible.
My first memories were the 75 World Series. Always loved the Red Sox and some respect for the Yankees (a little hatred then) and Reds. Dodgers? Hapless.
In 82, I was pulling for the Brewers but the Cardinals were really good. My foster dad was a real baseball guy (his team was the NY Giants) and always was happy to explain the history of the game for me.

Who was he talking about that is “coming to see them?” Said he got a text from someone. Stupid Fox bleeping everything out almost screwed up the whole speech.

I have a couple of older friends who are die-hard White Sox fans because apparently in the late 1950s and early 1960s White Sox games were on some Alabama stations for some reason.
I was pulling hard for the Brewers in 1982, I really thought they could close it out in Game 6 with Sutton but I was not confident when it got to Game 7 with Vuckovich on the mound, he walked too many people and gave up too many hits and with the Cardinals' speed you were screwed if you got that many people on base.
I may see about going to the Sick's Stadium site this time, we're staying an extra day this time plus we have a red-eye coming home and we'll have a bunch of time to kill between when we have to get out of our hotel and when we get on a plane. They have a display inside the Lowe's where home plate supposedly was in the stadium. I'd heard the area was kind of seedy now but apparenlty it's become a little gentrified.
I'd always wanted to go to see some things in Seattle like Pike Place, but I asked my wife's son about it and he said he wouldn't feel comfortable taking his wife to Pike Place these days and that's good enough for me.
First time we were out there, I was getting some fish and chips at a stand next to our hotel which was on Puget Sound ... the fish and chips out there are a cut above Long John Silver's or Captain D's LOL ... and I asked the guy, "Hey would it be worth it to take a day and go into Seattle?" He said, "You have any specific reason to go there?" I said, "No." He said, "Don't." Again, that's good enough for me.

ozzie smith, vince coleman, who else was a burner on that team?

Willie McGee and Lonnie Smith.
Whitey's Cardinal teams always had great OBP. They got people on base and moved them around the bases.
