If the Sox can't stop getting injured, it'll be the Astros easy.

I'd rather see the Astros cause that series is more winnable imo

Not if you keep trotting out Asian pitchers vs Yuli IMO

Getting ahead of ourselves though given how close this division race is and the Dodgers are in rhe middle of a death schedule. Who knows what the race will look like in a week or two and the Dodgers may be out of it given the dbacks have a pretty fricking easy month and the Dodgers still have another crazy week

It’s a shame, because that lineup is stacked.

yeah, but Sale, Price and Porcello have been really bad in the playoffs.

They have much better pitching than NY, but they are in the same boat, that they will have to get to Astros starters to have any shot, they can't out pitch them.

Eh Yuli was shite talking the other team, Puig and Bellanger we’re going at the fans. Both are pretty immature. I’m sure that shite happens all the time, Yuli just happened to get caught

Chris Sale has thrown nine innings in the playoffs. And sure, they weren't great (he did have 11 Ks to 1 BB), but it's nine innings. There is no one I would want on the mound in a must win game in the league right now over him.

Some Matt Carpenter numbers:

fWAR: 4.7 (1st in NL)
HR: 28 (t. 1st)
2B: 33 (1st)
OBP: .392 (3rd)
SLG: 581 (2nd)
OPS: .987 (1st)

A reminder that he was slashing .140/.286/.272 on May 15.

Insane.

3rd straight series win for the Birds, shoulda fired Matheny and went to the young talent a month ago.

Flaherty 6 innings of no run 3 hit baseball with 7 K's. Marp with NL leading 29th bomb.

0-0 through 2 at Fenway

Tanaka vs Price as the Yanks try to avoid a 4 game sweep which would put them 9.5 games back in the East and only a 2.5 game lead for the top wild card spot over Oakland
