Wouldn’t bother me. I thought I’d enjoy it, but it all seems like they’re half assing everything. The players half arse care. Hardly any energy. It all seems so generic. I’ve been trying to get into it, but I care about as much as the players do. Not much. Which is depressing.
While I actually agree with you, methinks if you still had the best pitcher in baseball combined with the reigning AL Cy Young winner running out there for 40% of your starts, you’d likely be singing a different tune.

It was actually hard to watch the first game when he was pitching.
Like I’ve said, you can just see it in the players between effort and body language.

Can’t speak for anyone else, but I actually think it sucks that in a season where the Dodgers or Yankees were most likely to end their drought, it turned out to be this shitshow
Astros chances are probably not bad given the terms of this “season” and postseason.
Regardless who ends up winning what they’re going to call the WS, it will have the mother of all asterisks attached to it. And that’s just not good for an old school guy like me, even if it happens to a team I dislike.

I'm only watching Cub games so I can't speak to a general impression of the league as a whole, but the Cub players, other than Kris Bryant who had expressed some concerns, seem totally in and enthusiastic about playing. I note no lack of either enthusiasm or effort in their body language or otherwise. They are cutting up in the dugout, shouting encouragement to teammates that are constantly heard over the broadcast.

Must just be your team, I've watched plenty of teams and they all seem to care.
Biggest issue for pitchers is some quit throwing after Spring Training was cancelled and just started again when they did the summer camp began. Needless to say there are going to be some injuries as players didn't have their bodies ready.
Indians did it right as I've said they had their starters start throwing 60+ pitches in early June and build up like they would during a season.

And?

Absolutely. Glad Reds baseball is back. Id be a lot more entertained if our fricking bullpen could pitch as well as our filthy starting rotation. Buncha GD choke artists.

I enjoy the extended Spring Training.
