The Royals were the first team with a full analytics and video department close by their dugout, doing so in 2015, their World Series Championship year

The Dodgers had an employee who was caught setting up cameras at Minute Maid Park wearing an MLB Polo Shirt, when he should have been wearing a Dodgers Polo, during the 2017 World Series.

Lol if this is true

The Astros "sign stealing" method all came from Beltran, New York and Texas.

As insane as this sounds, I've heard this from multiple players, Adrian Beltre had a buddy with binoculars in dead center who would wave a beater (undershirt) if he was getting something off-speed in 2017. Beltre 2017 home - .362/.440/.586 Beltre 2017 away - .271/.333/.489

This one hurts to say... my favorite player ever... "Chase Utley was the biggest cheater of all time."

quote:

The Yankees had cameras in left, center, and right, all pointing at the pitcher's glove, rather than the catcher, to pick up his grip.

Aaron Judge 2017-18 home - .312/.440/.725
Aaron Judge 2017-18 road - .256/.404/.531

Of course, all this comes from a guy who advocates for teams to hire him on social media apparently

That guy has been teasing info for a long long time. Not sure how connected or if at all, but none of this would shock me if actually true

Going through his twitter he advocates for teams to sign him. It says MLB analysts but I don't think I've ever heard of him he seems like a hedge fund guy who just really likes baseball

He’s a big time stat guy and that’s how he got “popular” in the baseball world. I believe he’s written a book, he’s been around for several years.

Only thing I see about him trying to get hired is a throwaway joke how he said Taijuan Walker is an awesome free agent value in October and now Walker is pitching incredibly well

Who's that pitcher that openly cheats because he says a lot of pitchers do and MLB doesn't care?

Scuffed balls, Vaseline on the cap, etc.

Bauer - SP, Los Angeles Dodgers.

But Bauer has been against cheating for awhile he even subtly called out Astros pitchers for it. Maybe I just haven't followed baseball as much but I don't remember him advocating it.

Right up to the point he was headed into his free agent walk year with a 4.50 ERA (and a 6.40 ERA after the trade to the Reds). Benefitted quite handsomely off that decision.

This is all bullshite. This site, among many others, have told me that there’s NO WAY other teams have been cheating. JUST the Astros. JUST the Astros and ASTROS ONLY!!

I mean it's not like he wasn't good before that, he posted a 2.21 ERA 2 years prior in Cleveland over 27 starts vs what he did in 11 last year.

His spin rate jumped considerably between 2019 and 2020. He was also flaunting it on Twitter the other day

MLB players will cheat anyway they can to get an advantage. People went overboard with the Astros stuff

That was his only season with an ERA below 4. Even leaving out his first 2 seasons of MLB action where he struggled through 8 games, his career ERA was 3.99 up through the 2019 season.

He has basically admitted that he got sick of the league doing nothing about it even though he was calling it out, so he decided to start doing it himself to show how much of a difference it would make.

Just like in the Twitter thread. Discredit, discredit, discredit because “THERES NO EVIDENCE!”

Like all these teams cheating would be some massive shock. Ryan Spaeder has always been pretty decent and has over 60k followers and now all of the sudden he has no credibility.
