In his defense, the Astros won’t knock the Yankees out of the playoffs this year, because the Yankees won’t even make the playoffs.
Sounds like the MLB didn’t want their precious clubs like the, Yankees and Dodgers, to be accused of wrongdoing. MLB constantly taking up for the Yankees and Dodgers

Someone on another board said they DM'd him to ask why he backtracked and all they got out of him was that he can no longer comment on it and he's since deleted all the tweets.
Certainly smells like the league or one of teams threatened legal action.
