Soto has 3 walks and a homer in possibly his last game as a gNat. He really is like a young Bonds

It's going to take more than that. Probably 4-5 players.

St. Louis Cardinals front office isn't going to blow all that for a player that is batting way below average for to be worthy! I will stop watching the Cardinals if they make any kind of deal for Soto.

UPDATE: As a for-what-it’s-worth, The Athletic out of LA reports that the Dodgers have “engaged” the Cubs on Ian Happ at some point. Doesn’t mean the talks are ongoing. But apparently they have happened.

I want Matt Carpenter! He was one of my favorites as a Cardinal player. He is way better than Soto! The Cardinal front office should try to trade for him with the yankees.

Catching up on some trades I don't see posted

Grossman went to Braves for pitcher Kris Anglin @CodyStavenhagen 1st

The Braves are busy. They're working on finalizing deals for right-hander Jake Odorizzi and outfielder Robbie Grossman, sources tell ESPN.
Will Smith would go back to Houston. Return to Detroit for Grossman is unclear.

Nunez and Oviedo go to Pirates in Quintana-Stratton deal

News: The White Sox have traded catcher Reese McGuire to the Red Sox, per source. For Jake Diekman

The Royals are getting Luke Weaver from Arizona for Rivera

The Red Sox are acquiring Tommy Pham from the Reds. With Vazquez being moved to the Astros, Boston appears to be trying to walk the buy/sell tightrope. #Interesting

@JeffPassan
The deal sending right-handed starter Jake Odorizzi to Atlanta and left-handed reliever Will Smith to Houston is done, a source tells ESPN.

[Heyman] Padres look like they are in front for Soto (and Bell) at the moment. But a word of caution: They appeared to be in the lead for Scherzer a year ago before the Dodgers swooped in and landed both Scherzer and Turner.

Time for Felix Bautista to lock down the closer role

For Mancini and Lopez, the Os got:
4x pitchers in High-A (ages 22, 23, 23, and 26)
1x 18 year old pitcher in the rookie league
1x 28 year old in Triple-A/MLB
Mike Elias just basically gave Chris Holt (pitching coach and director of all pitching operations) the chance to fill out the Os pitching depth for the first time since the 2012-2014 run.
Definitely quantity over quality type trades with the beleif that the new pitching structure in the organization gets a handful of them to the show.

I'll be surprised if aby of these pitchers end up panning out for the O's. I've got no problem getting rid of some extra pieces to make roster spots for the farm guys, but I expected a better return.

Amid injury concerns for George Springer, the Toronto Blue Jays are seeking to upgrade their outfield prior to the trade deadline. Per MLB Network's Jon Morosi, the Blue Jays are interested in Chicago Cubs' All-Star Ian Happ in part because of his ability to play center field.

The Yankees know how valuable Matty Mustache has been and will continue to be. He's clutch to a degree seldom seen.
