Would you take Soto if it meant that Judge walked after the end of the season?
On value, as we speak, no. The front office would say the same. The issue is a 10-year deal at 30.
If he continues to blow everyone away with this performance and gets the Yankees to the promised land, I think they hold their nose and give Judge what he wants. By the way, George would have signed off on this long ago and would be tracking Soto as we speak.

I'm curious to see what the Padres do with Hosmer and Myers. That's a lot of dead weight.
Are you shitting me?!?!?!

Wonder if Padres are paying part of it, if not Nationals have Hosmer, Corbin, and Strasburg on bad deals

Eric Hosmer has been notified he’s in the agreed-upon deal. He has a no-trade and hasn’t consented yet. Belief is they will figure this out however, one way or another.

Sounds like Gore is in the deal too

That’s the most AJ Preller approach to trading someone with a no trade clause

they got Bell too? Jesus
Yeah I didn't expect that. Josh Bell was supposed to the Plan B trade, so Padres got their first and second preference.

- OF Robert Hassell III
- SS C.J. Abrams
- OF James Wood
- RHP Jarlin Susana
- one more major league player

If you're the Nats and you absolutely have to trade Soto, you're probably happy with that return.
They emptied the padres system and set themselves up with a nice future

Don’t waive the no-trade, Eric.

And who is in the middle of getting this deal done -- Scott Boras. He reps Hosmer, who has to give his consent to be traded. He also reps Soto, Bell, McKenize Gore and James Wood. So this is the Padres/Nationals/Boras trade.

Do you want him to go to the Dodgers, because this is how he ends up on the Dodgers

America are all Padres today. Only Hitler and Bin Laden were rooting for the Dodgers to land Soto.

The Cardinals will come out today and say they were in the discussion for Soto but they believe in their players...blah blah blah
