McCoy got 31 carries, and backup Bryce Brown got 9 carries. This needs to be more of a 23/17 split IMO going forward if they want to keep him healthy for 16 games.
That's the one thing that surprised me last night. I expected Brown to get more carries than he did. I'm sill thinking as the season goes on, there will be more of a split between McCoy and Brown.

The offense was on fire when they stayed and owned the ground game...getting 7 yards a pop.
The offense stalled out whenever they entrusted Vick to pass. He is still late on delivering the ball on routes, makes bad reads (he missed wide open receivers for TDs) and ends up scrambling anyways making it a busted play.
In short, Kelly's offense looks like a machine on the read option...but when Vick simply drops back, it looks like an old Vick offense...where everyone in the league is reminded why he can never be a great pocket passer. He is still maddening in that department.

like the six WR set was pretty interesting to see.
I must have missed that, but it definitely sounds interesting.

True. Maddening because that TD pass to Celek was brilliant. Flick of the wrist and on the money. Amazing arm and release.

So Kelly is a genius but I need to give him a pass cuz he slowed it down in the second half? Well then why didn't he speed it back up when they started coming back?
The Kelly fanboys on here are hilarious.
It's one game. Spurrier and Saban won their first games too.
Kelly is lucky RGIII was rusty (looked like shite in the first half) and that he had a big lead.
I actually like Kelly but eventually teams just will stack the line and force them to throw like the Packers did to SF and they will be forced to throw it to win games like CK was. Can Vick do it? Can Kelly adapt? It will happen faster than not because there are other people doing it (read option) already.

Maybe because they were trying to run the clock down...

If the only reason they didn't look great in the second half was because they slowed it down wouldn't it stand to reason they would go back to what was working in order to finish off the game? When the hell did Kelly ever let up at Oregon?
Lol
Washington started figuring that shite out finally and Chip was shitting his pants wanting to end the game ASAP.
That or he abandoned what gave him a 33–7 lead.
I tend to think it's the first one.

The same problem in Oregon will be the same problem in Philly. The Washington D figured it out. The Washington O started moving the ball on a defense that is always on the field because Philly's offense tries to score as quickly as possible. Then when Philly needed to run some clock and keep their defense off the field, they couldn't because they had no freakin' clue how to do it.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. Oregon (and Philly) is Mike Tyson. Everybody fell in love with Tyson because he could knock out a tomato can in 40 seconds. He was going to revolutionize the sport and be the greatest thing ever. But the first time somebody punched him in the face he got knocked the frick out.
That's why Oregon has zero national championships but everybody thinks they're the best team in the country.

quote:Y'know, as a backup QB on a team that wants to run a lot of read-option, that ain't a bad idea. If Tebow's anything, he's durable. He doesn't have the speed or passing ability that Vick has, but he could provide a solid 3 yd run up the gut.
Eagles should pick up Tebow.
Just saying

I don't think Vick or RGIII will make it through the season without injuries.

You can only stack the line so much when you are that spread out...

I am starting to wonder if we will even see the RG3 from early last season again....at least this season...he still looks about 75% to me

Gotta add Kapernick to the list.

Question for those of you that remembered the early 90's Bills. I know the offenses are not similar at all (schematically), but how does the pace of the Eagles offense compare to the K-Gun offense of the early 90's Buffalo Bills?

Kaepernick stayed in the pocket most of the game.
Harbaugh will make him a pocket passer just to frick with everybody.

vick wont but RG3 did you watch the game he only ran 5 times
he will become more of a drop back passer, he has too if he wants a long career
