The Vikings suck, and always will. I can't wait to see them lose another Super Bowl.

The Bengals are top half in the league with available cap this offseason. Can we please stop harping on his “bag” that he shouldn’t have taken?

What did I say about his money?

They need to sign Terrace Marshall and CEH as well. Get the band back together wearing the right colors.

I understand Burrow got a nice bag, but it was very dumb of him to tie his football future to that franchise.

You have to understand how the NFL operates. When he was drafted, he was tied to the Bengals for up to 8 years whether he wanted to be or not.

First round rookie contracts are 4 years standard with a 5th year team option. Teams are allowed to franchise tag a player up to three years. A third franchise tag is rare, but for a QB of his standing, they would likely do it.

Him signing the 5 year deal was more favorable for him, because it runs to 2029, only one more year than the Bengals would have controlled him anyway, pays him more than he would have been going through franchising and gave him more security. You can imagine if he would have had a career ending injury during a franchise tag year.

End of the day, he has more leverage with team options out of his contract, more financial security and only one extra year of commitment.

I doubt that … the Higgins deal in the Bengals favor moving forward for #2 WR money

He’s the 11th highest paid WR in the league. Even after some of the coming extensions for other receivers, he will be paid like an upper half WR1.

This is on top of Chase being the highest paid wide receiver.

Like I said, it was foolish to pay Higgins that much money, and Burrow push hard for it to happen.

The Bengals have floundered for 4 years now to replace the defensive talent they let walk away and to build a serviceable offensive line. They have thrown money at bad free agents an drafted poorly. They just gave Hendrickson a bag and he rewarded them with 7 games played this season.

That has 0 to do with Burrow and his two receivers getting paid.

Remember Marino. I thought he would be there all the time, just like Brady later. Miami had a very good team and a great coach. Miami never made it back. I’m afraid that’s what will happen with Burrow.

Did he not come out pretty publicly and advocate for the WRs, Hendrickson, and even the average TE about a year or so ago?

Bengals won’t trade him. He’s their ticket to sell tickets and jerseys every year, and the “poor” ownership (by NFL standards) need the money to keep operating the team. That ownership is really hamstringing the franchise though, they need to sell a minority stake to cash in on the value of the team so they can have more money to operate

And what does that have to do with the bad free agent signings and the bad drafts?

The Bengals have not been completely hamstrung as it relates to the salary cap in the last few years. They just have a terrible front office. The same front office drug their feet with Chase’s extension and cost themselves money by not getting it done after year 3 instead of year.

Is there a legitimate source reporting this, or just some Vikings fan site trying to wish it into existence?

They gave Hendrickson a raise for the year just to keep him from sitting out. I don't know who they've thrown money at in free agency either. They give out homeless vet one year deals.

They also don't make trades because they don't want to publically "lose" a trade.

Letting Jessie Bates walk was their dumbest move in this run.

Sell a minority share for what???… ownership profited 153 million last year from the 432 million they got in revenue share… they have plenty of cash to operate… the Raiders situation was different… Davis was over leveraged personally the Brown family is not

Maybe they’ll offer him a lucrative, Minneapolis Learing Center in the deal.
