Could be worse, but not getting a super bowl with Ben, AB, and Bell is pretty tough.

Couldn't be that he has been in the same conference as Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes along with much better overall teams?

AFC > NFC

Tomlin's missed the playoffs the same number of times as Fisher made the playoffs and Fisher coached longer.

He does a great job getting flawed teams to outperform but at the same time he makes objectively dumb game management decisions on a regular basis.

The Steelers could do better if they got really lucky with a new coach but the odds are that they'd probably do worse.

This roster missed the playoffs and went 8-8...

Ben,

Threw four picks in the loss to Cleveland.

Also Favred away critical games in a season where they missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker. Can't remember which year. Urinating Tree showed clips of Ben making bonehead throws, and sarcastically asked Ben "Was that AB's fault? Was that Juju's fault?"

Wouldn't have matter much since the 2013 Broncos were nearly indestructible until they met the LoB.

That excuse doesn't work considering how horrendous their defenses have been against much lesser QBs than Brady and Mahomes in the playoffs.

2011 - Gave up 316 passing yards to Tim Tebow in a 29-23 loss
2014 - Allowed 30 points to Joe Flacco and the Ravens in a 30-17 home loss
2017 - Allowed 45 points to Blake Bortles and the Jaguars in a 45-42 home loss
2020 - Allowed 48 points to Baker Mayfield and the Browns in a 48-37 home loss

Tomlin's a defensive guy yet his defenses have been absolutely atrocious in their playoff losses. That's on him.

So their only playoff victories are against a pair of backup QBs and Alex Smith.

That was a weird game. Lebeau was overconfident on defense because Tebow had been so shitty throwing the ball during the season, and he was shitty in that game too but happened to hit 3 big plays.

Plus they were weak over the middle of the field because Ryan Clark was out. He'd had a bad experience at altitude before due to sickle cell but had his spleen removed so probably would have been fine.

Tebow lovers went crazy after that game pointing to it as proof that he was a real NFL QB but obviously he wasn't.

Injuries? Poor special teams? What was the story with that team being mediocre?

25% of this was from one play to Demaryius Thomas

Joe Flacco was possessed that offseason, him and Boldin put up some numbers.

Blake Bortles has pedestrian stats in this game, the game was lost with a Big Ben INT and Fumble (returned for a TD) - That's a 14-point swing for the Jags. Pittsburgh threw for 469 yards in that game and Bortles threw for 214.

2020 - Allowed 48 points to Baker Mayfield and the Browns in a 48-37 home loss

Big Ben throws for 501 yards and 4 INTs and Baker throws for 263 yards and has 0 INTs

The fact that he was the only coach to get Antonio brown to actually play football and keep his uniform on, and not act like a complete retard, makes him a good coach, imo.
