quote:

Bill? Clinton was? still president when Mike Scioscia managed his first game for? the? Angels? on April? 3, 2000.? Mo Vaughn?? batted third for the Angels that day. Ken Hill was the starting pitcher.

Scioscia’s 19-year run in Anaheim is the longest since Bobby Cox managed 21 straight years with the Braves and the sixth longest in major league history, according to STATS LLC.

For Scioscia, it is enough.

Scioscia, nearing the completion of a 10-year, $50 million contract, is expected to step down at the end of the season, according to major league sources. His decision not to pursue a new deal would be his alone and not the result of pressure from the club, sources said.

Scioscia should stay for 5 more years.

I really, really think that the Angels can win one more World championship with him, Trout, Pujols, Ohtani and Calhoun.

I really believe this.

As a Rangers fan this is bad news. They had one good year in 10 and was mostly mediocre.

They're gonna trade Trout sooner than later. The Angels are a complete mess, and it'll only get worse. Burn that franchise to the ground.

Rally monkey year and that was pretty much it. Time to rename the franchise to the California Angels.

I remember when Scioscia got his start when Steve Yeager got a broken bat to his neck.

The angels are trash.

The fact that you lost off Pujols is lol worthy.

They'll never do it but the prospect haul they could get for Trout is insane

Underwhelming for sure, but better than people probably realize. They've sort of been stuck in baseball purgatory for a while.

Since the World Series, they've made the ALCS twice more and have only finished lower than 3rd in the division once. They blew a great opportunity a few years ago when they had the best record in baseball and promptly got swept in the ALDS. Not all that great, but not all that bad.
