Arguing with proven documentation also logical in your estimation?

it's not proven documentation. inaccuracies in "verified" historical documents are debunked later all the time, not just in baseball.

This just in, your opinion doesn't qualify as scientific evidence or enough proof to raise doubt on a major league acknowledged record.

Another thing I've learned in my years on this Earth is that people are horrible with eyewitness accounts. And they tend to exaggerate and the exaggeration gets bigger over time. I suspect this was an even bigger issue before TV and the internet were popular because you could get away with repeating the bullshite over and over and people believed it.

People still do this today, but it's much harder to get away with bullshite claims because they can be verified.

I'm skeptical. It's not logical.

Hell, the newest evidence brought to the table is a 734ft HR by the legend.

As for Madking, I was minding my own business. He sought me out. "Stalking" as you're known to call it.

There has been plenty of literature and scientific research related these mythical home runs posted in here. You're just choosing to dismiss them for whatever reason.

Because anything other than what he believes is "lies, selective stats, and false." We've been down this road before.

I mean, we have some pretty solid video evidence here.

If you get Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton in a homerun derby, they will be hitting near-500 foot bombs.

There are many videos of Mickey Mantle on Youtube participating in homerun derbys against guys like Harmon Killebrew, Ernie Banks, Willie Mays, etc., and none of those guys were hitting it anywhere near 500 feet.

The video evidence is there, plain as day. If any of them were capable of hitting the ball over 500 feet, we would have seen them do it at least once in those videos. You can see they do not even come close.

major league baseball also used to recognize inaccurate numbers for the fastest pitches ever thrown that were recorded using archaic methods that were wildly inaccurate. There's a actually a documentary called Fastball on netflix that is very interesting. Homeruns are also an estimation. Home runs that were hit 70+ years ago are largely based on eye witness accounts and over-exaggerations. Please, read the article I posted on the last page. it's very interesting and not just people "hating on Mantle." The estimate, based on physics, that mantle's homerun traveled 510 feet.

Link? I've always read that the hardest thrown ball until the 2000s was 101.8 by Nolan Ryan.

Which is probably where this Mickey Mantle "565 foot homerun" myth comes from... back then they probably measured where the ball landed at, rolled, and came to a stop.

No probably about it, it measured 565 feet from home plate to where they found the ball. That said the yard the found it in had a fence, so the ball had to traveled at least 535 feet to land in the yard.

That absolutely is evidence. If Mickey Mantle is capable of hitting the ball 565 feet, we would have seen him hitting 500 foot bombs in his homerun derby contests.

He didn't come anywhere close to that.
