Yeah, mgoblog has a pretty good summary of the issues.
This week's obessesion: are we on track?

Last year was a very good year, just had three close losses. Anyone closely paying attention knew they were going to take a step back after losing all those guys last year and the fact that the upperclassmen now are basically Hoke's last misfires and Harbaugh's late patchwork effort in his first class. Next year may be tough because of sched. They should be rolling in 2 years and going forward if Jim doesn't go crazy.

I do think the lifetime thing is slightly desparate and gimmicky, but is it smart from the standpoint of settling down recruits when NFL rumors hit every year.

Being dead serious. Y’all treating him like a schmuck but he’s going to be a nightmare for OSU and the playoffs when he gets a QB

UM will be fine moving forward. I don't know if there's any truth to it, but there's rumors that Shea Patterson is visiting UM this week.

why do people think Harbaugh is mediocre?

he's still rebuilding that program. His QB has been out most of the year. Michigan is the best spot they've been in since the mid 90s

This board has an odd hatred for the guy. I've always felt like 2018 and 2019 will be big years. They have a roster full of first year starters right now.

I'd rather have the guy who turned a school like Stanford into a national power on his resume than one who has "worst coaching record in Ole Miss history" on his.

Well, if he were any good he'd still be in the league. He was just that bad of a QB.

It's not about whether you think he's a bad coach or not. But Saban is the only current coach I could think of that would warrant lifetime contract consideration.

there are rumors that the lifetime contract isn't specifically for HC, and that it may include being the AD, or some job in the athletic department

gonna have to wait and see exactly what type of agreement is reached

The most valid point in this thread. I hate Alabama just as much as any red-blooded American, but they compete for championships with true freshman and first year starters like Sims and Coker. So why, in his 3rd year at UMich, is not having a quarterback a valid excuse? At the very least, why doesn't he have an O-line that can protect QBs from the likes of a Purdue pass rush? He's not even close to winning the East, let alone the B1G, let alone a national title!

So basically like everything Harbaugh does? Dude is not a good coach, and I look forward to Notre Dame giving him a L for the next few years.

Alot of idiots in here that have zero clue about cfb dont realize that michigan lost almost every starter from last season. Give harbaugh a year or 2 from now and people will be singing a different tune

I mean really, who wouldn't want a career Dline coach leading their program over a guy who took a team to a Super Bowl with Colin Kapernick as his QB...
