Yeah, Michigan comes across as very desperate to me. Harbaugh is a very good coach. He might be a top 10 coach and those aren't very easy to come by. But a lifetime contract after three years when he hasn't even finished higher than third in his own division? That's a little too much.

meh this whole thing is just a marketing gimmick as michigan has been recruiting well below expectations; they are currently ranked #27 behind Baylor, NC State, and Kentucky.

as far as being a "very good" college coach. hes 57-30 (.655 winning % and 2-2 in bowl games); these numbers are average.

he has also zero conference titles or even division titles.

I'm sure there are some LSU fans that would give O a lifetime contract right now if they could.

Dude Shea Patterson was the best passing qb in the SEC before he got hurt. Look up his stats and Google his highlights over this year and last

Ohio state should offer to help pay some of the contract to make sure this happens.

Rocket31, you have zero clue what you are talking about regarding recruiting

His first 2 full recruiting rankings were top 7, which is higher than UM coach in my lifetime

This year the class is tiny so of course it will be lower

Harbaugh has had more top 100 recruits than hoke and rr had combined

I bet every coach wished they got knighted for as hard as Harbaugh does. He lost players !! So did dumbass Les. But Brady Hokes players are still here, those pesky seniors are dragging them down!! But but the qb..wah wah wah

That would solve a lot of problems. I'm a big fan of Shea. Plus it would give Mccaffrey another year to bulk up. Win, win for UM if you can pull that off.

I'm talking about this years class bubba

Even the average star ranking is mediocre

And you've had some huge decommits

Still early I guess. Regardless this lifetime contract is all a gimmick

I agree with that. I still think Jim wants to turn this program around and then head back to the NFL.
