Michigan Punter rails against NIL and Michigan State

So a punter for Jim Harbaugh is upset about NIL and Michigan State. You would think someone at Michigan would celebrate the "name" and "brand" of Michigan.

Sounds like that dude hates capitalism. Shame.

I think it's possible to hate what NIL has become in college athletics and still like capitalism.
NIL has taken away amateur sports. I miss the purity of college athletics versus pro. Sorry to say, but this NIL stuff sucks. Making money of their image and likeness is fine, but it should never have turned into a pay for play.
I guess the response will continue to be, "you must capitalism." Feel free to check out this thread. LINK

This blue isn’t and it’s not evening for us.

I get the point made in that thread, but definitely disagree with it.
People hate it despite supporting the concept in most other aspects of life, so they’re jumping through hoops to differentiate it so as not to appear hypocritical.

What’s the NIL going rate for punters these days? Guessing it’s not a lot

Yeah. Not a lot. That's why he's so jealous.

I doubt he's mad that punters aren't going to get big $$$ and is instead disgusted at how certain players are blatantly being "ME FIRST" over the team.
There are going to be a lot of teams that completely collapse this year b/c players who have gotten a big head from their NIL deals. It's going to be interesting to see which coaches are able to keep their squads together when things get rough.

I'm hoping it's Aggie and Alabama.

MSU and ohio state doesn’t want to get in a bidding war with Michigan … and you know that.

You’d be surprised.

This is nothing new, it's been a tiered system for a long time. When I was in school Michael Irvin and Bennie Blades were on the top of the pyramid with matching sports cars and massive bling paid for by friends of the program.

No fanbase gets on their high horse like the twinks in Michigan

They really think Rashan Gary turned down $300k to go to Michigan for free.
