MJ was fearless, man.

I don't see either stopping the other. LeBron is a physical freak, but Jordan had probably the highest basketball IQ in NBA history.

IDK, I could see him getting alot of weak arse charges in todays era.

I lived in Orlando during Shaq's rookie year. He would CONSTANTLY get called for offensive fouls every time he dipped his shoulder at all when driving inside.

Do you know how many field goal attempts Michael Jordan recorded for his career?

24,537

Do you know how many free throw attempts he had for his career?

8,772

When James hits that # of FG's, he's on pace to have under 2k more FT attempts. Considering the modern era, and what is a foul these days (read: hand check), that is a pretty damn comparable number.

Under today's rules, Jordan, in his prime, would score alot less. . .and would go to the line alot more

Look at Kobe for reference, he played his 1st 6 years under the old rules:

Jordan: 24537
Kobe: 24301
LeBron: Proj. 24537

Jordan: 8772
Kobe: 9468
LeBron: Proj. 10535

And let's not forget we are comparing shooting guards to forwards.

Compare LBJ to great forwards of the past, and see what you get.

James: 15411/6617
Magic: 11951/5859
Bill Russell: 12930/5614
Karl Malone: 26210/13188
Barkley: 15605/8643

LBJ would have DOMINATED in the 90's rules. Flopping would be lessened. . .but you get rid of zone defenses, and LBJ would LIVE at the rim.

but hand checking would be allowed. LeBron doesn't have to deal with that now.

Also, MJ's mid range game was good enough that a zone really wouldn't bother him much.

LeBron came into the league at a much younger age than Jordan.

You think hand checks would affect somebody LeBron's size?Take away the zone, and James would take anyone in the league to the cylinder. The only guy that I think could man-up on James to any significant degree, is rainbow-haired Rodman. . .but he just isn't quite quick enough.

Making hand-checks illegal did far more for the jump shooters, than it did for the physical offensive players.

By 90's rules, LBJ would not be shooting hardly any jump shots.

Color me unimpressed by your .gif Roaad.

Lebron dunking over an out-of-position Paul Pierce on a 3-on-1 is not the same as Jordan dunking over a well-positioned Patrick Ewing in a 1-on-3 situation.

This thread is dumb, we all know LBJ is the GOAT already. MJ was a pussy, LBJ never flops. /thread

kobe in this thread is irrelevant.
by the time LBJ finishes playing bball no one will even remember Kobe.
kobe flops more than anyone. he even flopped when he toar his achilles.
jury is still out on if LBJ just made Kobe quit for the season.

Lebron is apart of me.

i've repented and asked for the basketball gods' forgiveness. i now kneel at the site of LBJ as a good MSB poster should.
