Say what you want to about these traits but that's the professional personality level one must reach to become the GOAT

I wanted him to lose so bad in the Finals and he never did. Your stance on people like him soften over time.
The people who are LeBron superfan would've been MJ superfans back in the day. They're followers who need an alpha to look up to. It's quite sad tbh

I can say this because I literally thought and expressed this when the Cavs overcame the 3-1 deficit to defeat the 73-win Warriors team to win Cleveland their first sports championship in 52 years: that was a GOAT accomplishment, particularly for LeBron, and I consequently became more amenable to the notion that LeBron is the GOAT. The Blind Witnesses also emerged from the woodwork in full force. I expressed and defended that notion in the subsequent years until I revisited and therefore regained my appreciation for the Golden Age of the NBA, realized I was uttering utter nonsense by comparison, and turned from the error of my ways. Point is it makes total sense why MJ agreed to the doc in light of that event. It also serves as a good basketball educational device because a ton of the Blind Witnesses weren't old enough to really watch and appreciate Michael Jordan in his prime nor watch a bunch of the NBA Entertainment documentaries about him (all of which are on YouTube NOW). Probably gonna be the biggest sports documentary of all-time.

You’d be surprised to know that this documentary will never change people’s minds about LeBron being tGoat. Nothing will ever change their minds

Yeah, putting Brady in there is a low blow. Dude just had a split with a team he's been with for 20 plus years, and hasn't said anything negative yet. I will give you the TB12 stuff is insane, but I don't think it's spiteful.
I'm more relating to the competitiveness of these individuals behind closed doors compared to their public personas, that level that athletes must reach to win titles and achieve GOAT status

The NBA has a lot of their corporate functions there

LeBron's not the GOAT hell he's probably not even top 5, he's gonna have to win 4 straight titles to end his career to even have a viable argument when it's all said and done

Yep, most highly successful people are assholes. Jobs, bezos, koch, musk, etc. These dudes aren't angels.

But were they always or once they became famous/rich? That’s the best question.

Fans liking two of the best players of all time is pretty normal in any sport

It’s been well documented that he was a jerk to kids asking for his autograph. In some cases, he was so rude to the point where he would make some kids cry.
Yep. I as a kid being told no autographs at Mike Jordan basketball camp at UNO lakefront arena

I don’t think Kobe was shitty to his fans. I couldn’t stand him, but haven’t heard stories about him being a prick to kids or anything.
I think Kobe was mainly a prick and a giant a-hole on the court and in the locker room. He was pretty nice and chill to his fans.

I agree. Most people are followers

He’s an interesting dude. I have always assumed he’s an a-hole, and think his own screwups led to his father’s death.
Oddly enough, he hasn’t been in the spotlight in retirement as much as he could. He’s been relatively quiet. But damn...he is VERY protective of his status as GOAT.
Can you blame the guy for laying low? Imagine being hounded for autographs and pictures and people going up to you every time you set foot outside your house. During his playing career, MJ either had to call stores and have them shut down temporarily so he can go there and shop in peace or shop at odd hours of the night like 3 am. Hard to blame the guy for turning into a recluse after dealing with that type of fame and celebrity.
