Is he better than Michael Irvin though?
Also, Jerry Rice was the GOAT

Rice is the GOAT of WRs, and saying anyone else is just stupid.
Moss was better.
Rice caught a lot of six yard passes, and that's commendable. Moss forced the defense to completely change what they were doing. And so while Rice accumulated more on the stats front, Moss added more value to the offense. Which means he's better.
Also, Moss wins if we're going by Alien Test rules, and this is inarguable.

quote:For every 6 yard pass Rice had to catch a 24 yard pass to average 15 yards per reception. That means Rice caught a lot of 24 yard passes, and makes you argument kind of self-defeating. Also, do you think there might have been some benefit to the team from all of those 6 yard receptions? Maybe converting a third down to extend a drive, or set up a second and 4 situation to open the playbook? Those are also things that forced defense to completely change what they were doing.
Rice caught a lot of six yard passes, and that's commendable.
I remember watching the 49ers when Rice played for them. Opponents would try to double team him, and the 49ers would put Rice in motion. It would totally disrupt opposing defenses. The only hope was to get pressure on the QB.
How much value to the offense did Moss add in Super Bowls? 5 receptions for 62 yards and 1 TD. How did Rice do in Super Bowls? In his first Super Bowl Rice caught 11 passes for 215 yards and 1 TD. In his second Super Bowl Rice caught 7 passes for 138 yards and 3 TD. In his third Super Bowl Rice caught 10 passes for 149 yards and 3 TD. And in his fourth Super Bowl Rice caught 5 passes for 77 yards and 1 TD when he was 40 years old. Rice's worst Super Bowl was better than Moss' only Super Bowl.
Rice wins if we're going by the Super Bowl Test rules which is more relevant than the Alien Test rules, and this is inarguable.

Jerry Rice easily added more value to the offense 4 Super Bowl Championships and a loss in the latter part of his career with Bill Callahan as his head coach. Compared to Randy Moss' 0.

Jimmy was never staying past the next year. He never stayed anywhere very long. The mistake was Chan Gailey, his offense did not fit the Dallas personnel. Then the Cardinal loss in Dallas was the kill shot.
do you not see what's going on here?

I agree. The MOST TD's he had in a single season in his career was 10. This is less that Tyler Eifert has this season alone with five games left in the season. Not only is he not the best ever, he's not in the top 10, and has no business being in the HOF.
The only thing he was really good at was committing offensive pass interference and not getting called for a penalty.
