Fishy story for sure. There's no telling how everything went down even with the video.

did you actually read his statement? No it didn't play out like that
some gun shots were fired
he's running
he's dressed like ice cube from an NWA album
cops make a split second decision and take him down
the cops took him down, took him to the back of a squad car, ran his name and let him go.
he's a sensationalist fake and i hate people like him.

Racism? How can you be racist against cops?
Find a better word buddy. And no I'm not making "blind generalization"
There has been a consiste pattern of reason/rational from those that persistently deny the mistreatment and discrimination place people face.
I can literally pull text about Jim Crow, 3/5th comprise, slavery, housing discrimination, etc and they were all show people that denied that that things happened. It's literally aimless.
What I find to be is just a guise for true feelings about a certain group. Which the trump presidency has shown. Usually you can back these folks far enough into a rhetorical corner to where their only out to is to admit the truth that Black folks experience.

He has no reason to sensenationalize a potential life or death situation like that?
You really believe that? I don't know what happened, but unlike you I can wait for the facts and judge each incident individually. If the cop roughed him up for no reason then frick the cop. If Bennett is full of shite to try to prove that all whites are racist then frick him. It's not that hard, but to say that he has no reason to sensationalize is just out of touch with reality. Anybody with that platform has a lot to gain by sensationalizing.

The Jews were systematiclly opressed for a lot longer and a lot harsher than African Americans. When will you get on your soapbox for them?

Yes black people have been making this shite up for years.

I'm sorry the gun could have been holstered by then he had the cuffs out already. Don't cherry pick his statement.

I don't know how you have all your facts in order when we simply have a statement from Bennett & one video.

The Jews have the worlds biggest soapbox to make sure no one ever forgets the six gagillion...

Did you just make a generalization about black people?

You have to admit that it's fishy. For someone so outspoken about injustice, he waits two weeks to tell the media about a cop threatening to blow his head off?
Yep and 1 day before the start of the NFL season and MOAR not standing for the national anthem. It's almost like they needed some additional justification for disrespecting our national anthem. Hmmm

so him being dressed in a plaid button up is reason enough to arrest the man
this sentiment is exactly why athletes are protesting

Also, don't cops like NWA now?

I could see how it sounded like I was cherry picking. Legitimately didn't mean anything at all by that. The article basically says the same thing. It was just a statement.

Some cops are assholes. I've been threatened with my life by police before. I've been sent to a hospital after getting my arse kicked by about 6 of NOPD's finest. And I'm white
Many cops just really suck.

With the amount of black people that have maimed, murdered, terrorized, oppressed and raped over centuries who "cried wolf" by were right, and had to be posthumously vindicated...hell yeah I believe it.
The truth generally has always fell on their side in these matters.
Why give the cops the benefits of the doubt if we won't give it to a citizen? Does It bother some think that their protectors and servers can be corrupt ?

After seeing the video, I dont buy all of Bennet's story.
I believe he was correct with him being stopped and detained for being "black at the wrong place at the wrong time. Shots rang out after the fight. Chances are police got word that the suspect was basically "big and tall black male". Unfortunately Bennet, among many others, including myself if I was there would fit that description. This isnt saying the cops were wrong, they have to do their due diligence in finding the shooter, as they have no idea who it may be other than hes black and maybe the color of his shirt.
What I dont buy is that the cops threatened to blow his brains out. That sounds fishy, not to mention the video doesn't reflect that part of the story at all. Maybe he made all this up for attention. Or maybe, he was so scared in that moment of being detained that he genuinely thought he was going to die and started playing scenarios in his head that never happened.
At the end he says the system failed him. I believe that I would disagree. He was not shot, doesn't appear that the cops tried to go Rodney King on him or anything. Not to mention, when they got to the station, they quickly realized their mistake and let him go. They didnt charge him with a crime, they didnt make him stay overnight or anything like that. I would argue the system did its job. Even if it freaking sucked because being arrested by the police while innocent would certainly ruin anyone's night.
