I used to root hard for US Women's team during World Cup. The glory days of Mia Hamm, etc.
Rapinoe made me almost root against them. Thank God for Alex Morgan though

I think this gets totally ignored. I mean there are legit gripes in this regard in certain professions but in sport I see it applied with no regard to context or reality.
I have absolutely no idea about supply and demand metrics in Women's vs. men's soccer in the US but I know worldwide it's not even close the men bring in much more money.
And in almost every other sport I can think of that both genders compete in that's the case too, with the possible exception of tennis at certain times in history.
