We’ll see. It’s been nice to start off with a couple of wins but that’s all it is.
Even though NU has a generally “friendly” schedule now until having to travel to Columbus later on, any of those teams are certainly capable of beating Nebraska.
Unlike the old days, there’s no intimidation factor for a team getting ready to play Nebraska. That would have to be earned and that’d be a long time off, if ever, to be a factor again….and EARNED.
The Nebraska fanbase has traditionally asked for not much more than play your arsse off and if the other guy punches you in the mouth then punch him back even harder. If that guy still manages and beats you at the end of the day then step aside and tip your cap to him.
But have him leave feeling like he had to work his own arsse off to earn that win and leave him also not really looking forward to the next time he has to try and earn another.
All that has been gone/missing for a long, long time. Ruhle seems to get that. He’s proven to be a great fit to that culture and tradition.
Yes, we are lucky to have Raiola and glad that family ties and tradition played a role in his ultimate decision. No one could’ve blamed him for going to Georgia or Ohio State or a modern winning program.
We are lucky to have Ruhle. He says he loves it there and no reason to not believe him. But he’s also a builder and sometimes those builder types get itchy feet after they’ve built and aren’t as interested in maintaining. If he truly has found his “place” and stayed then no one would complain if he had the type of program it looks like he’s building.
Mainly, we just love college football. It’s been depressing and humbling to not be part of the discussion in forever (unless it was for futility related reasons). It’d be nice to be part of the good and fun discussions again someday soon.
We’ll still love college football either way I suspect (as we have for the past 20ish years).

This term is way, way over used.

O for how many against ranked teams?

Pretty bold claim after two games.
Might want to take a deep breath. It's early and they haven't proven anything as yet. Team Neon is not a yardstick.
And they scored zero against that piss poor defense in the second half.

Looking at their schedule I see them rolling into Ohio State 7-0 and a fringe top 10 team

They better not miss out on a bowl again after starting 5-1.

There's a "generational talent" at QB every year now.

He has Nebraska somewhat respectable again after being left as ashes from a dumpster fire. Granted I know they have a generational talent at quarterback right now. But regardless of NIL, you wouldn’t have a 5 star+ go play for some no name.
Looking at their schedule I see them rolling into Ohio State 7-0 and a fringe top 10 team and you know the media will be hyping them up.
Either way the guy deserves a ton of credit. And I know Nebraska fans are thrilled to have him. His defenses always show up and play hard nose football.

2 years away, they'll likely build from this.
They have a hoss at QB

Just because the kid isn’t complete dogshit like the last few QBs Nebraska has had doesn’t mean he’s a “generational talent” at QB

Is not going to happen by trying to keep up with the Joneses. That’s what got them into the mess they’re in
