I agree, but the bet was Tiger or the field. 70% >>>>>>>>> 30%

Oh, I agree...if you can get a Tiger vs the field for every major of the year, and place that bet every year; you will lose your arse off if you pick Tiger every time. And, you could win a boat load if you pick the field. I seriously doubt you could get this bet at any legitimate gambling establishment, though.
I was just commenting on the amazing percentage that Tiger has in majors.

No doubt. I remember when he first came out on Tour and his Dad said that he would win 30 - 35% of the time he tees it up. EVERYBODY laughed. At the time if you won twice a year you were a SUPERSTAR. Now who is laughing.
ETA: I still remember that Curtis Strange interview

I also think that Danny Lee will have a strong showing (top 20). IMO, he has the game to become the best in the world.

Despite Tiger winning 4 of 14 Masters, or 4 of 13 as a Pro, he is a total factor lately, with a 1st, 3rd, 2nd, and 2nd the last four tries.
He looked healthy, focused, and confident, during Monday's practice round and on the driving range.

I really like Retief in this one. He looks very poised and in control.
My personal favorite would be Greg Norman. But the big hitters have an advantage at Augusta. There's not much rough. But when you have several par 4's approaching 500 yards you have got to hit it long.
Couples would be my dark horse.
If Sergio or Vijay can put either one of those guys have a shot.
Other players that I think have a good chance:
Mickleson - Keep the driver under control
Vijay or Serge - Putt Well
Immelman - Has such a solid game, but repeat unlikely
Adam Scott - On the verge of a break through. Hits the ball a mile.
Nick Watney - see above

If I had to put money on it, I would bet Tiger.
A solid longshot bet, I think, would be Jim Furyk. He has a fantastic short game and is a very solid ball striker. If he gets hot with the putter, he could steal this away.

The guys that draw the ball slightly and hit it long have a built in advantage due to the slopes of the fairways.
BTW, the greens are tiny compared to most pga courses.

don't : kige : Sergio is playing like dogshit right now. If he's in the top 30, I'll be surprised, top 20 will shock me.

Has a better all around game than Sergio, but I don't like him to win this week for the same reason...not really playing well right now. A top 15 from him isn't out of the question like it is with Sergio though.

tiger looks ready to take this. on the range he was teeing up 3 woods about 6 inches high and proceeded to hit 270 yards stingers that never got 30 yards off the ground. did this about 15 times and every one was perfect. the guy is getting ready to go on a sick run. trust me.

I would normally take the field, but I think Tiger wants to win this one maybe more than any other tournament in his career. Today is a big round, though. He's been really putting himself in a hole with bad Thursday rounds at Augusta. If he shoots 70 today, he wins. If he shoots 66/67, he wins going away.
