Schlereth seems to have his heart in the right place On this issue.

A commissioner should have the same knowledge about what players are doing off the field as a coach should about what is going on in his own locker room with his DC being the ringleader?
Uhh, Yes would be the answer to your question.

If that commissioner has made himself judge, jury, and executioner on player punishment, hell yes he should know.

LOL.....Ray Rice may be a wife beater but he was contrite and didn't try lying to Goodell. Sorry Saints fans, but playing stupid and lying to Goodell was what got Sean Payton a year off from the NFL.

But men like Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder have made obscene amounts of money under his watch!
Therefore, he should stay. Because that's his job. shite all over everybody and lie about everything so that your bosses can get filthy rich! #capitalism

We found the guy who has seen the 50,000 pages of evidence!

Ray and his lawyer were saying he was defending himself, so he did lie.

Nope....but can we assume that nobody in their right mind would try to claim he never struck his wife when they have video of you dragging her unconcsious body out of the elevator?

Well, he could have defended himself less aggressively but she did take a swing at him...or did you miss that part of the video?

So, that is who you want to have the power over the coaches and players of the NFL? A man who severely under-punishes an egregious and criminal act because the perp man grovels to him, but severly over punishes a man who doesn't grovel and doesn't commit a crime?
Posted on 9/9/14 at 5:35 pm to LSU82BILL
So that was self defense to you
Posted on 9/9/14 at 5:35 pm to udtiger
It's a good analogy in my opinion.

This.
I find it hilarious Saints fans still blame Goodell for this. When it was totally SP and the front offices fault.

Lets not forget that the man who "doesn't grovel" authorized paying his players to severely injure opposing players and then orchestrated a cover up of the whole affair. You guys acting like Payton is the fricking victim are a hoot.

Yeah...the 220 lb NFL player had to defend himself against his fiance by knocking her out like she was in a ring with him. As oppose to restraining her like most men do when their wife swings on them and calming her down. you know because you love and care about one another...and all that jazz.

He got enough intel on Dez Bryant to know that his mom is a prostitute.
You're confusing Goodell with former Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland. I do understand the point that teams gather a lot of information about players during the draft process but the NFL couldn't get a video tape from a casino in New Jersey though.

He actually hits her 3 times in that video...1 in the stomach which in retaliation she uses her elbow to smack his head...which was then immediately followed by his left jab, along with him backing up and setting up his KO
