yeah, he's been around a long time, I remember he used to do that NBA show on ESPN probably about 30 years ago and I remember thinking the same thing, a black dude who sounds like a white dude trying to sound like a black dude.

He used to not really be this way. He was like a younger version of the late, great John Saunders covering college football, hockey, and basketball for ESPN, and he was a total pro.

He used to do that NBA Today show on ESPN in the 90's and I found him then very much like he still is today on that show. Would always usher in the show referencing the "NBA jam posse" and I would always chuckle because it sounded so forced.

Jesus, I’ve been in Law Enforcement 25 years. I wasn’t aware that I was supposed to be doing that……and I live and work in NOLA. That’s funny, my working class neighbors that I live next to in Algiers since Katrina don’t seem to share his sentiment. Must be all that racist American money he makes.
