Really?! You're gonna sit there and tell me people make judgments on all those external characteristics of people from their clothes, tats, body composition, and height but we don't include race? We all see everything BUT color?
I'm just saying it doesn't come from a place of racism.

quote:I'm telling you why Cuban associated a hoodie with a black person being trouble and face tattoos with a white person being trouble. I'm not saying he said the exact words I used.
You're putting things in the hypo that weren't discussed by either Cuban or Jones. Don't attribute your fears, whether deserved or not, to these people who never mentioned them.
quote:When Cuban said a black kid in a hoodie, I'm sure he was not describing a black kid in a college hoodie, wearing khaki shorts and boat shoes.
Wearing a hoodie isn't a trait of criminal behavior unless you are associating some other characteristic with it, Cuban choose to associate being black with that.
I'm sure he was using "hoodie" to describe the picture in his mind of somebody wearing baggy clothes with a hood up. A black kid wearing thuggish clothing.
I'm sure a white kid wearing a hoodie looking like a thug isn't something Cuban comes across often and so he wouldn't even make that comparison.

Intellectually dishonest people will focus on the minute details of what Cuban said in an unscripted interview where he was expressing himself in real-time instead of focusing on his overall point.
It's people just looking to play gotcha.

The truth really bothers the race baiters.
Just as bad on here sometimes.

While Cuban runs back and forth across the street, he hears and sees a 350z all modded out, big spoiler and all..... who's driving???

I thought this was remarkably honest of Cuban. He said he has prejudice, like everyone else on the planet, and he works hard to overcome that and treat everyone equally. I don't see how anyone has a problem with it, and while I avoid ESPN, the only guy I saw talking about it was Stephen A Smith. He backed up Cuban.
This is what we want, isn't it? A person to honestly look at his own biases, recognize them, and then work to overcome them? I did like his apology, when he stood by every word except he apologized to the Martin family, saying he should have used a different example and didn't intend to bring up that case. I see no reason to doubt him on that.

Shouldn't have even had to do that. I didn't realize the Martin family had the patent on hoodie wearing.
