Thought it was an insane story at the time but the doc is even more insane.
Crazy how selfish the dude who catfished him was. Never expressed any concern about how it effected Te'o

It didn't ruin his life. He went to the NFL, made $10million over his career and got married to a real woman.

And Teo lying non stop about it got him to be the most decorated defensive player in CFB history when his on field resume was catching 4 tip drill interceptions.

Just wrapped it up. Sympathetic to Te’O here but how can you be that gullible, even in 2012? Good on him for being able to not kill or severely injure the tranny.

Was a great documentary overall. Don’t know how anyone could watch this and not feel for and ultimately like Manti Te’o. He’s a really solid human being. He’s gullible, but if you put yourself in his shoes, situationally and culturally, you can see how this may happen in 2009-2012, while catfishing wasn’t nearly as prevalent.
I also like how this story highlighted both how dumb and how cruel mainstream media was, even in 2012-2013.
The dude pretending to be a girl, ending up being Trans was weird, but not totally unexpected. A guy that was mentally ill in 2009, continues to be mentally ill in 2022.
