Major League Rugby 6/9: San Diego Legion @ NOLA Gold

Sat May 19, 3pm. Your NOLA Gold hosts the Houston Sabercats. This is the MLR Game of the Week, and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

The first Major League Rugby match to happen in New Orleans is this Saturday May 12 at noon. The match will be played at the new stadium on Archbishop Shaw's campus.
I made the first 2 NOLA Gold games in Houston and Austin, and I'll be at this game in Marrero on Saturday. We're hoping to have a big crowd, so consider coming out to support your local team.

MLR is a fully professional league, and games are being broadcast live on ESPN+ and CBS Sports Network.

That's where they built the home stadium. The owner lives in the area and has close ties to the school. Maybe if wildly successful in a few years they can upgrade.

Prior commitment this weekend, but I'll come melt in the sun for some other games this season.
On an only slightly related note, it's a shame that the Philly's Steakhouse by the westbank expressway is closed on Saturdays because that's right by this stadium.
