Is that the worst 2nd half in the history of the NFL playoffs?

For clarity..

He had 83 yds on 7 possessions

he had 34 qbr in 2nd half, a 0.0 in OT

Looks like combined was the 1.4.

How can someone do worse?

Patrick Mahomes QBR by half Sunday: 1st Half - 98.0 2nd Half/OT - 1.4 It's the largest gap in a player's QBR by half in the playoffs since QBR tracking began in 2006 (min. 10 attempts each half).

He went from one of the best halfs ever played by a QB in the playoffs to one of the worst. Truly remarkable.

its bad but no

there are guys that had games with lesser stats.

I really pin this on Reid Cincy was dropping 8 back and they never tried to run, after a couple of drives should tried CEH or Williams up the gut

And to think, he was even worse in overtime.

But some poster here said during the AFC championship game that one team has an elite qb and the other has Alex Smith. You know who it was

Frustrating after seeing him ruin Allen's near perfect game last week.

I'm convinced someone got to Mahomes at halftime, and he was forced to throw the game in the 2nd half.

How else do you explain playing like the best qb in the league, to playing like a practice squad qb all within the same game

I swear to god it was like he was concussed or something in the 2nd half. Poor throws are one thing, but his decision making in the 2nd half was like either his brains were scrambled or he was drunk

I'll admit. Watching him run backwards in circles and taking sacks, instead of throwing it away, was the wierdest thing I've seen (from a top qb) in a long time.

He choked, in the least. It sure gives teams the blueprint to stopping him. They put a spy on him and it confused him....for an entire half and OT

His stats were nearly as bad in the first game against Cincy in Week 17.

It's amazing how many people want to take away from what Cincy managed to do. They adjusted and shut KC down, and KC never made adjustments to what Cincy was doing.

Nobody threw the game, and the only thing that got to Mahomes was Cincinnati's defense.

That vaunted Cincy defense. You know...the middle of the pack defense all season long. Magically...they where able to shut down a top 3 offense...for a half. What's more likely? Cincy all of the sudden figuring out how to stop the Chiefs, or Mahomes dogging it?

Cincy adapted and KC didn't, its as simple as that.

They did the same thing 4 weeks prior.
